Its super cool how the mobs understand whats going on and try to flee with you. Thats a nice detail that puts some story and emotion into the mod.
They even prioritize fleeing over fighting
Extra fun fact, the radius in which mobs will flee increases with the phase of the storm. The bigger the storm is, the earlier they'll flee, down to fleeing way before the storm has any amount of chanse to see them.
@@FuryJack07 kind of like how most animals can feel the vibrations of an earthquake before it strikes or the low pressure in the atmosphere before a storm. They can feel something is wrong before humans can even notice.

I still wonder how they managed to code the wither storm sucking up pockets of blocks, it's very cool.
Probably it has a pattern of items it's going to suck up. Then they can just program the entities floating

@@BagreArtistatechnically you can make sand float in vanilla Minecraft so maybe you give the blocks hit by the beam gravitational properties and you make them float or as you said with pre-made entities but with pre-made entities it won't always be accurate to the blocks being sucked up also there is another method

@@BagreArtista Minecraft is one of the coolest things to be made in Java so once as a school project I made a Minecraft mod and I used exactly that
It's pretty easy, every block can be made into an entity, and minecraft does have a physics system, but you don't really see rotation, you just make a code to turn blocks in a certain area into entities and then play an animation or run a code to make the block get sucked up, I know basic modders will have trouble but I know many modders who could cook a code like that working almost perfectly in 1-2 days

technically if you brute force it you can kill the storm before it grows too big, but no withered nether star. the best strat is to get food, rush iron and diamond, and get to the nether. the storm will not move closer to you if you are in the nether. in the nether get geared and portal out very far from the storm. during the time for it to get to you, you can get geared, enchanted, and ready to fight the symbiots.

If you want to, there is a modpack called Explorer's Eve that takes this mod and expands on it a lot with other mods and a custom datapack. The progression is a lot more straightforward and there's even a guide book to help you through it. It also is a pretty long modpack as well so you could do a series instead of just one whole video on it. If it were a series it wouldn't be any longer than like 6 episodes I would feel like but that depends on how you do in it. But yeah, highly recommend. 👍
(It's also really underrated for its quality and I would love for it to get some attention.)

To answer your questions Vivilly:
The withered bones are used to craft golden apple stew, which will take the wither sickness away. You can do the same using withered flesh & withered spider eye
The Withered Symbiont gained health back thanks to the Wither Skulls it shot at you; usually, when a wither makes you or a mob take damage from the skulls it shoots, it gains a portion of its health back. That's what the Withered Symbiont was doing

The "we need to go deeper" achievement really suits the boss because you really have to go deeper to survive 💀

They made the mobs fleeing just like in Story Mode. Kudos to the devs for updating this amazing mod pack to be more accurate. I can't believe it's been 8 real years already.

W pfp, and yeah, it has grown so much since I last played it.
legit my only complaints on the mod are: Kinda causes server to have a stroke...alot (Although that might just be bc I have a pc from 2016) and that the witherstorm isnt really...expressive yk? Like in MCSM Its waving its tentacles at high speeds and tilting and shit. It has so much expression, meanwhile the Java ver has slow tentacles and like barely any expressions.
Edit: oh yeah the tentacles also dont look as nice

What sucks about the Wither Sickness is that you don't have to only get hit by the Wither Storm's tractor beams to contract it. It just needs to be close enough. Bad enough the cure for it is hard.

Quick fact.. If you use tnt or creeper on its back you can deal a lot of damage.. (the wither symbiot)
Second.. You can attack its back 2 times if you timed it correctly
Third.. You Can actually Gain your hearts back if you eat the bowl soup that the mod added

What I love about this guys videos is they aren’t like the super fast paced this and that exiting style where your 3miniutes in and the guy in the video already has full diamond and it’s more of just character and going in depth and it’s a lot more comparable to just watching a friend play video games and s honestly for me a great source of entertainment

Nah this isn’t even a mod. It’s just an average bedrock wither experience.
Being a Bedrock player for years and now seeing Java, Bedrock is better, but DAMN the mobs are WAYYYY harder to beat.
@@ThatSocialKid id say bedrock is an easy way to play on multi player and do things you usually can't do in Java, also more simple pvp,
But Java has better mods and is more flexible when playing single player, it also has better quality servers but it's harder to play multiplayer in worlds with friends
So I would say they both have pros and cons
Java for when u wanna play alone and have a 'better' combat and mods, Bedrock when you want to play with friends and 'worse' combat and 1 mod

It was kind of Vivilly to ask the wither storm if he can get food.
Wither Sickness in the mod slowly withers your health, and it also has the neat effect of PERMANENTLY removing hearts.
There is a cure you can craft in the mod though, it’s a specific kind of soup.
What I mean by permanently, is that it removes hearts from your HUD. (No you can’t regenerate those with the Wither Sickness Effect on.)

When the cave you were in started rumbling i got uneasy lol. That uncertainty is what makes real life caves so terrifying. I would play a mod that incorporates that naturally.

o7 for Ivor's Voice Actor. I used to watch and even play Minecraft story mode when I was younger, around 7 I first saw it. It was amazing and I loved watching Popularmmos playing it. I then started playing it myself when it got released to Netflix. It was such a fun and good game. Ivor was probably one of my favorite characters. I loved his voice actor and I had respect for him. Rest in peace Ivor's voice actor.

The beams sucking up blocks have some pretty sweet ambiance while fighting the symbiote.
Imagine if the wither storm was in real life? That would be the most scariest thing ever, even scarier if the world was about to end, because when you summon him, it will.

This thing is the coolest game-changing mod I've seen in a little while. I never saw Story Mode when it came out but my little brother loved it.

You need to go to the Nether for the Cure to Wither Sickness, which involves both Mushroom Types and either a Golden Apple or an Enchanted Golden Apple. TalonMC did a video where he had about 100 of his Fans and Subscribers fight the Wither Storm.
Also, if you have a Sword with Sharpness V and Sweeping Edge III or an Axe with Sharpness V and Cleaving III, you should be able to deal Damage to at least 2 other Mobs in close proximity to the one you're attacking. The only Downside is that you can't use them to make the Command Block variants as they need a Fresh Version of the Diamond Tools as well as Not being able to enchant them afterwards from what I remember.
