      The Totakastakam was composed by Totakacharya, a devoted disciple of Adi Shankaracharya, to show his profound gratitude and devotion to his Guru and to Lord Shiva. This eight-verse hymn praises Lord Shiva and reflects the teachings of Adi Shankaracharya, emphasizing the transformative power of devotion (bhakti) and surrender to the divine.

    This was written by Shankara s beloved Disciple Totakacharya on Aadi Shankara his Guru for blessings. This is not written by Shankara. This has become a natural tendency of Indian scholars to name just about anything to Aadi Shankara .
