This song is definitely about the woman he loves (his partner), he uses the word "baby", "darling" and expressions like that so often in his songs, Hozier more than a normal writer is a poet and his voice is absolutely beautiful, Take Me To Church has become one of the most important songs in history but in general his discography is criminally underrated, without a doubt, one of the best artists working today.
The "empty crib" part could mean; "this could be a metaphor for his immaturity and his sense of direction, since he just stated he was lost when she found him he could be comparing himself to a child and her to a guardian angel in which she had the crib FOR HIM and that her love was just what she needed.", also Hozier loves to use metaphors.
I hope you keep reacting to Hozier, he is so fascinating, im pretty sure that you will love all his stuff.

This song is my favorite Hozier song. I still can't believe he wrote this song and "Take Me to Church" when he was 23 😃 Hozier is popular but his great songs are so unnoticed. If you liked this song, react to "In a Week".

Fil, the walk to the river, the talk to the wilderness, the hawk of hard hits, the chalk of words, the awk ward pause.
#QcumberSquad #Hozier - Fil, I'm off back to the study.

any time you react to hozier you really should have the lyrics up, and for his more complicated songs you might need a reference guide as well
