I loved this video! I'm on my artist journey and I'm glad that I already apply most of the habits! I'm gonna keep the good ones and ajust others. Thank you! ✨
For the planning, it might sound counterintuitive (at some cases it is depending on situations), but blocking out 1 or even 2 years to JUST practice and learn can boost your progress dramatically. There are important points though, like you need good quality learning materials like books and even courses. Also it's nice to plan out months, like a single month for just observational drawing, with each week you have 3 different learning materials AND you need to have a quota; something like 2 daily scenes in ink per day (one from photo and one from life) BTW you are my main reason I bought a dip pen! It's so satisfying making clean lines with weight variety and the unlimited choices of inks 💛
I subscribed your channel from drawing Musashi video. Your ink drawings are cool. I would like to know how many years you are into art... just curious.
I slowly got back into drawing last year again after a break, thanks to signing up for Marshalls Perspective Course I pre-ordered back in September last year, As well as my fave indie game company Cyan doing their own fun version of Inktober known as Mystober were they gave us a week long prompt to do that was all adventure gaming themed which made it fun n fresh take on inktober which I surprisingly completed. I'm going to continue to slowly getting back into drawing again this year little at a time as well which I'm looking forward to. :)
I love your channel, and I admire your art style. However, I envy your skill. This is especially true because I try to draw with a pen and ink, intentionally making it look dirty and messy. Your lines look so good, though.
Thanks, I'm so glad you like my channel! For a "messy" style, I sometimes study masters who are known for this. You might enjoy this video here: ruclips.net/video/wf7GfUGUqow/видео.htmlsi=gIcsLXZKlwsgE10m

I LOVE The Spirit piece at 4:36! Classic Spirit but in Will Eisner's 80s/90s graphic novel style! Awesome!
Good eye! It was indeed a Will Eisner study, as suggested by a subscriber.

Excellent video and advice. Also, a brilliant positive start for 2025. Thanks .
Happy new year!
And would you consider also creating a book on pen and ink drawing techniques and your own art book?
Down the road, for sure! Thank you for the encouragement!
I see a drawing of Guts from Berserk. "You had my curiousity, but now you have my attention!"
I started re-reading Berserk from chapter 1 last night and it's even more amazing than I remembered from when I looked it all 6 months ago.

I doodled on-off in childhood, then stopped. I'm 55 years old now, and just started drawing again in 2020.
@longstrideillustration thanks for the reply. Awesome result you've made during 5 years I would say.
Nice stuff. Great. I really appreciate. Hei...Girl....cold enough over there. Wow.

Sounds like a great way to get back into drawing! (I love Marshall!)
Hello Chloe would you consider making a discord and doing lives streams?
I'm considering Patreon this year. It would have a discord and other learning activities. Launching some time in the Spring.
Thank you

@@longstrideillustration Thanks. The best part about ink is that many old masters are still relevant today, including Durer.
👍👍👍
Thank you, Chole! Now that I've watched this at the first day of 2025, I will start by making a strategy and hopefully it will work!
I wish you the best with your projects and planning for 2025!
