Never understood why they chopped up this trivium video. Totally leaves out one of the best riffs in this song in which fucks with it's flow right before the 1st chorus.
They didn't chop it up. This version was recorded right after Ember to Inferno so Trivium could get signed to Roadrunner, then the Ascendancy version was recorded with the dope riffs. 😎

This was one of 3 songs they demo'd in order to get their very first contract. They later went on to re record this song for their big label debut. And it sounded even tighter and better.
Ah man I was 13 when this song came out, and was super into this album. I got super lucky and they played a show at a small venue about 30 feet away from my house at the time, here in the UK, I literally lived 2 doors away from the venue entrance. I had tickets and was real excited, went to my local shop to grab a drink and the entire band was in there at the counter buying beer. I fanboy'd hard and said hello to them, ended up chatting for about 10 minutes, then went home and a couple of hours later went to the show. They tore the roof off, I got my ass kicked in the pits, I kicked some ass in the pits and went home absolutely buzzing.
Trivium is wonderful. Is an amazing band Matt is a great singer and the new drummer is just a monster. You should check some of the new songs like "the sin and the sentence" or "what the dead men said"
Please react to anything from Trivium's album Shogun, that album is a pure masterpiece and really shows what they are made of. Everything in that album is like a story from start to finish, and is just put together in such a flawless fashion, close to perfection. Also the newest album what the dead men say is just complete fire from start to finish.
I got backstage to sounds of the underground 06 in Houston and Trivium was 3rd to last band to play & I was standing on the side of the stage while they were playing I have a pic with Corey before they went on & one with Matt just after they finished

Amaranthe Boom!1.Showcases Handrik also known as GG (growlgod). The band usually does a nice mix of growls and melodic but in Boom they kind of let Hendrik of his leash.
I think they probably did, or at least similar. Because they are the ancestors of birds and alligators are essentially the same as they were when the dinosaurs were alive and I've eaten alligator which tastes exactly like the most tender and succulent chicken you ever had. So yeah I'd assume that they did.
Mathcore is a sub genre, Stamp of a Killer by The Crossed is a good example of this. Technical death metal is another genre that is close. Trivium is metalcore.
