22:58 so there actually a cool thing about cooking with campfires or charcoal barbecues you don't want flame, flames move up and down providing uneven heat distribution and often just being to hot and charring/burning the food. Embers on the other hand provide consistent heat and don't jump up and burn the food. had you cooked that food on the big flame fire it would've been burnt on the outside and raw on the inside

the entity behavior is already so much more interesting than in minecraft. the fox having enough of fighting you and running away after getting a few punches, the horse family sticking together etc. this is gonna be good. 1 or 2 years of active development and minecraft modders taking an interest in this game might actually turn it into a long term successor.
Well Minecraft already has some of that. Baby Hoglins will attack you but if you hit them they run away and Baby animals follow their adults so they’re not that far apart.

It's bizarre people think it's something amazing.
It's a Minecraft copy, slightly worse in 99% of ways, with a tiny few things that can be modded into Minecrafy easily that are marginally better. A perfectly serviceable game that can be enjoyed and if Minecraft didnt exist its a really good game. But people are emotionally against Minecraft for a few reasons recently and are being heavily blinded by that when it comes to the comparison.

Quite litterally. There was some other game that was kinda like MC2 as well, but I dont remember it. This feels really cozy but also more fun and lively.
After playing for a while, it's far closer to 3D Terraria

@Moneim_Hm Vintage Story and Hytale are like the two children of Minecraft, where one got the Survival genes, and the other got the Exploration and RPG genes
Some tips:
- 17:00 The icon in the bottom right that lit up is a special combo ability that charges up as you do damage, that you activate using the keybind shown once it reaches full charge.
- Once you get into building things, the rotate keybind (R by default) is very useful. Pressing it once brings up an outline of where the block will be placed, and pressing it again rotates it. This is pretty essential for placing half-slabs so you can control whether they're vertical or horizontal (yes, there are vertical slabs !!!!)
- There is a map (press M) and beds are marked on it, so you can use them as waypoints I think.

I followed to the ultra modded years and through the mianite years. i even checked back in on you a 4 or 5 years ago on your second channel when i started going to the gym. i am 22 now and its been a while since i watched... but when i saw this game released, you were the first person i wanted to see play. thanks for all the good memories jordan :)

The best part? They could make it using Hytales tools they provided themselves. Which is insane to think.

@PseudonymUltimateif it’s downloadable on minecraft you can probably import it using the mod ThirtyVirus just released (haven’t seen the full extend of the mod but it might be your best shot)
I’ll just say this in case there are people that don’t have time to read the blogpost, but keep in mind that nothing you see here is final.
That includes things like terrain and world generation, ore distribution, mob spawning and enemy difficulties, things like structures (some of them are visibly W.I.P), the UI itself with the inventory and health bar and probably a bunch of other stuff.
This really is just a first glimpse of what is yet to come, and things could be drastically different in the future. Only time will tell!

@Elliott-Burtonas far as we know, the fox is neutral and only attacked due to him intruding on it or some other mechanic we dont know about yet. Real nature behaves in ways we don't always understand.
