I have played this game and beat it, but only with the save state mod. It is WAY easier to learn when you don't have to worry about restarting by falling down constantly, which allows you to learn difficult spots much easier. Once you do beat the game for the first time it becomes much much easier since you know what to do from then on. It is not EASY, but every time you beat it it becomes a little bit easier. Then as you keep playing eventually you can do runs faster and faster. Until you are this insane man and do it in a minute, which is literally insanity.

I think apart from a couple of spots where they could take off a fraction of a second through mistakes like the one near the start, there's some areas where momentum could be preserved slightly more, like through the area before orange hell. I'd say it's possible but extremely difficult. Plus at 0:47 you can see the splits and if the tutorial and Devil's Chimney were perfect they would be at close to sub-1:00

Even though this guy is a god at this game it’s neat to watch the small mistakes he makes compared to a tas speedrun with 0 mistakes. If you watched this before seeing a tas speedrun you’d think blast makes no mistakes he’s that good.
It’s definitely possible for a sub 1 speedrun as you can see there are plenty of mistakes that could be fixed like he almost got stuck on the chair entering orange hell
There's TAS that finishes the game in 42.069 seconds so technically it's possible to do at least that :P (it's called "Getting Over It TAS 2" if you want to look it up)

This makes me start to believe again. If anybody looses faith in god. One should show 'em this video, and they will believe again. This is the best run so far. Not only because it is the new official record, that we should honor by at least a minute of solitude. But especially because of the minor mistakes at the beginning, that the rest of the run, Blastbolt had to compensate for. To keep the determination and believe right at the moment of the start, is what made this run possible. Self honor, believe and determination were present like a rock, regardless. And still he wouldn't have been ignorant, if there would have been another mistake at the start, because he would have restarted. This shows how calculated he became. And how dangerous he is. Like Bruce, he is starting to BECOME the water in the bucket, that ''Character No. 1'' is sitting in, instead of just being played by the water. I have never seen anybody swing up Orange so god-damn fast. This run was so refreshing, that it was even making me release my childhood traumas while watching it. And it would not wonder to me if I would release an egg too when he breaks the one-minute mark. Because then I will know the answer to the question about ''what came first, the egg or the chicken?'' Because from this point on, my answer will always be ''Blastbolt the bolt''. 😃
the craziest part about this is that unlike other speedruns this isnt about mastering super specific inputs or anything like that, theyre just playing the game the same way we all did
