Hello! Would it ok to fill my batteries with water from my home filtered water system along with water softening?
Just get distilled water, friend It's 98c.
pittsburgh199 It’s not cost .... it’s convenience. I’ll stick with highly filtered and softened water.
I would hesitate to as you want water free of solids or minerals. Distilled is best as the evaporation and condensation doesn't allow any solids to pass the distillation process. If you had nano filtration or reverse osmosis you might be okay but the safest bet is to use distilled water. If using your sink water works for you and you see no decline in the performance or life of your batteries then keep it up.
Where do I put the water in the three holes? My husband did it before he died. I need help to get it running batteries are new.
Yes, you want to put the filtered water into the 3 holes covering the plates inside. You only want about a 1/4" of water above the plates or they might boil over when charging. Thanks for for watching and don't forget to subscribe!
