you have to understand that on all those european clips, unless it's an euroleague game, there are fans of only one team allowed to enter the arena... because, if fans of both teams are on the stands, they would most likely fight each other. curently there's an euroleague finale in Berlin this sunday and fans of Panathinaikos and Olymiakos fought each other on the streets of Berlin, putting several people into intensive care....
@@steggall75 not within the domestic league (and clips are from domestic league games too)... you won't see the fans of PAOK on Aris vs PAOK Greece basketball league game, nor Zvezda fans on Patrizan vs Crvena Zvezda game in Serbian league.... they would demolish the venue and each other!
If u coming to Europe come to Serbia when Partizan and Red star are playing its called "The eternal derby" and its one of the best atmospheres u can witness Love form Serbia 🤍🖤
For Europeans Sports are a state of mind and we are PASSIONATE about supporting our team. I support Panathinaikos since I am Remember myself . I am not even from Athens (I am around 6 hours away from Athens by boat). I went on January at OAKA. Sold out Game vs Partizan. The atmosphere was BUZZING. I have known the majority of chants due to I am watching Panathinaikos since I was a child and I was really waiting for the moment I could go to OAKA and Shout for my favourite team and having Sore throat for 4 days shouting for 2 hours at the game Shouting Chants. When I will be egible I will travel to Serbia to See both Partizan and Red star Beligrade because they are doing Atmosphere Masterclass as you saw on the video. Also You can also watch Zalgiris Kaunas fanbase that they have pretty solid Crowd and they litterally Breathe for Basketball.
I remember once they were calling Lukas fat and they fought this was a harsh insult🤣🤣🤣 Being a player in Europe means that you will "probably" hear chants that "may" include family...
I think its a cultural thing, in America its seems all corporatised and the fans feel like customers, in Europe the fans are part of the club, it doesn't matter how youre team is doing (youd rather theyre doing well) youll always go back, you ride or die with your team and on the continent some football (soccer) clubs are really sports clubs and also have basketball teams attached to the clubs e.g FC Barcelona or Real Madrid (where Doncic used to play), your club usually represents your area/city, it doesn't matter who plays for the team or anything like that, its your club for life, for better or worse
@carlosruiz7104 sorry my Spanish isn't the best, and the translate function doesn't want to work (I've literally just sat here and used a mix of Google translate and a Spanish to English dictionary to translate it 🤣) I agree it's definitely a more American phenomenon, some of the younger generation over here will just support a certain player and any club they go to (I have a 12 year old nephew who'll support any club Cristiano Ronaldo goes to), supporting a club was passed down from generation to generation in generations past (my grandad got me into football, he was an Arsenal fan, so now I'm an Arsenal fan) in North America I only really ever here about that happening in Mexico with football club's, I think in the US they do the franchise system and are a bit more corporate, nothing wrong with that, it's just a bit different from how it is over here, in the US it just seems like it's there for entertainment, here in Europe (im in the UK) football is almost a life or death thing to some people
There's an American called "Emeka Reacts" who has been vlogging from European basketball (and football) matches, if you want to see the fan POV. Recommend the Partizan match
I've watched him, he goes to all the Ultra games and is welcomed. We love sharing our passion, oh in case you're wondering he's black, we don't care one little bit, we just see him as American.
Have said that to different videos. Usa is sports entertainment. In Europe there are feelings, a club for life. You can get a new wife. But you can never change clubs. It's about belonging. Greetings from Europe.
There was 2 Greek teams on this video ....the yellow fans and the green ......Also allow me to inform you that Greece have the most exciting Basketball Championship in Europe ......Greece teams won over 20 European trophies. Panathinaikos vs Olympiacos match is the el classico of europe (its like playing REAL vs BARCHELONA at football) .Also if you can remember Greece won USA tream team 101-95 . Greece also is a WORLD CHAMPION 2006 at basket . And EUROPEAN CHAMPION 3 times. Just to inform you because you said that you dont even knew that there is basketball at Grecce . LOVE ...

Sports as entertainment vs sports as a part of culture
There are too many AD BREAKS in "US sports" to get any atmosphere going for long.
@@Muck006How can there be AD breaks in irl😂
If you noticed... European fans go without stadium music guiding us.
same shit with ice hockey watched few games of the world cup butthe stadium Dj is an absolute atmosphere killer for me.
