Thank you and blessings upon your house for this!! I've been learning bits and pieces of the sacred language here and there - however, that isn't enough. I wish to become fluent in time so that I can read The Torah for myself.

Very informative. Thank you for the time you have taken to make this video. And also, thank you for taking time to break down the pronunciation for beginners like myself.

We are trying to stay away from the pagan names of the week, months, “planets”, etc according to Exodus 23:13. Would the months also be numbered then?

    • @HebrewWithBen
      @HebrewWithBen  4 года назад +2

      Thanks for asking.
The Hebrew calendar is different than the Gregorian calendar. Thus the names are different.
In the Hebrew calendar, the months' names are not numbered. They have unique names and those are:
      1. tishrei
      2. ẖeshvan
      3. kisleav, etc.
The origin of the names is Babylonian(as far as I know. Not an expert on that topic).
You can find some references in the bible and scriptures to the months as the "first month", "Second month" and so on. In this case, it is just the ordinal numbering. That is not so common in modern Hebrew though.
You can read more here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hebrew_calendar#Months

@@HebrewWithBen And the time of every one of the three is:
Tishrei - the most of the time in september.
Heshvan - the most of the time in october.
Kisleav - most of the time in november.
About the Gregorian calender in Hebrew:
      January - Yanuar
      February - Februar
      March - Merts/Mars
      April - April🙃
      May - Mai
      June - yuni
      July - yuli
August - Ogust (it's almost the same as in English)
      September - September🙃
      October - October🙃
November - November (sometimes we say Nuvember)
      December - Detsember.

    Choreqshabti - Wednesday ( chors - four)
Hingshabti - Thursday (hing - five)
