You could also have one or two of his taunts come from his pose when he wins a battle or when he gets a "Great" or an "Excellent" for one of his special minion attacks in the original game.

Nah. Bowser's a villain and he LOVES IT and that's what makes him fun. He describes himself as evil and enjoys the mayhem he causes. Any "good deed" he does just happens to be incidental and he outright rejects the idea of him being a hero. It's characterization like this that makes him memorable and fun to play when people get a chance because it's normal to play as the heroic Mario and Luigi but Bowser has the strength, means and motivation to cause real havoc. I sodding love this theme. Mario & Luigi's regular battle theme is kinda warning the bros of what could be a potential danger. Bowser's is more like warning the enemies of what can only be described as a walking cement truck with a flamethrower. My only two complaints about new Bowser overall are that his walking looks a little odd, and that his vacuum sounds nowhere near as powerful in the original.
Eh, I'd say his punch looks a LOT less powerful as well. I always loved how in the orignal, Bowser opened his mouth as he was preparing to throw his weight forward, made it look like he was giving off a quick roar or something - and of course, leaning farther back.

Showtime indeed! Bowser fights much differently from the Bros, but the basics remain the same. Defeat the enemies without being defeated yourself. As Bowser fights alone, if he goes down, it's Game Over, so be careful. Press X to punch, and Y to duck into Bowser's shell. You can't stay in the shell forever, so make sure Bowser doesn't get up at the wrong time.
Bowser is the only time where you don't play as Mario and Luigi, (if you don't count Bowsers Minions and Bowser Jr's Journey) in the series, and that's what I think makes him such a good playable character. All his moves are different from the others, he doesn't jump or use a hammer, he punches and blocks with his shell. His play style is the most creative in the entire series, and I love that!

I fucking love Yoko Shimomura's music. Whenever I heard the Treasure Trove Cove remix in Smash Ultimate I immediately started a new save file in Dream Team (My favorite Mario and Luigi game)
I never heard that version before because I played the original game and didn't want to spend money for basically the same game. It was obvious that the remake would look better but I didn't expect a so much better sound. It's still the same melody but somehow they managed to increase the quality of this soundtrack even further. But maybe I am wrong here and it's just because I'm watching this on my new computer that probably has a way better audio system than my old NDS.
So many missed opportunities for Nintendo to buy out certain companies. They should've bought out Maxis (for SimCity) & Rareware (for Banjo-Kazooie) & Hudson Soft (for Mario Party). Hell, they should've bought out the "Incredible Machine" franchise. That would've been great to play on DS/DSi/3DS or Wii and made it capable of Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection where you can create custom contraptions and share with people online and stuff like that. That probably would've been genius!

They reference that line in DT when Dreamy Luigi battles Giant Bowser. Bowser says, "IT'S SHOWTIME!" at the start of the battle.
It's also on the Mario Kart Wii stage of Bowser's Castle. Look at the billboard before the finish line.
