If you wouldn't have told us about the black doing that to the edges, I would have thought that was just part of the beauty of the piece, I think it looks great! Thank you for inspiring us!🤗
Also like the "accidental" black. Gives a pop of contrast to the softer shades. Also adds an interesting texture to the whole piece. I think it has the look of petrified wood which to me is beautiful.
Looks like a sliced geode placed on a forest floor where lichens grow. Beyond the beauteous swirls of color, one can easily drift into perceiving flowing human forms. I love watching your paintings. ❤️ ❤️
One of my faves of yours, Molly! Love this piece. What I like about you is that you're not afraid to experiment. Art is all about trial and error, and not being afraid to try new things. You're right -- the copper makes this look striking. Inspirational.
Definitely a learning process, right? Would love to see the final product when you make the gold leaf framing, or whatever you choose to do! Thanx for letting us see your processes, thereby learning from you.
Wow Molly. I needed to watch you and hear you laugh. I am in a very bad mood from a bad selling experience, but you can make me laugh and feel better. It is a very beautiful painting.
8:37 I love the way the painting turned out. I liked the idea of doing a gold leaf frame. With the colors of the painting would go great with the gold leaf. But I am so new to acrylic that I wouldn’t know what to do. I have the problem of black cracking. Those I throw to the side one less to post lol
💜 It's perfect, Molly! Don't be so hard on yourself!.. Fix the crack with gold leaf if you must & maybe put a couple other gold leaf spots to balance it out, but otherwise, it looks awesome!
The piece is stunning and I will definitely try the same process soon. As much as I hate that the black flubbed the piece up, I'm glad you went against your better judgement by using the black because it answered a question that I had after experiencing the same black blotches in the past. This was a huge learning lesson and I"m grateful for it. Idea: maybe hand paint and patch the section at the bottom and once it dries, paint a frame around the piece incorporating a bit of gold leaf. Just my two cents because I am imagining more that just a little gold leaf might be too much. A little goes a long way. Overall, the piece is gorgeous!!!!
Oh Molly, I have a chuckle for you! So I am a watercolourist of realistic wildlife just to give you an idea of where my talents lie. I have been following you and some others for a year now, the more I saw the more I was enthralled by pouring. So I’ve been buying up supplies and Saturday was my day to try pouring. I painted four pictures trying the balloon kiss. After fiddling with each pour trying to get it the way I wanted, I scraped them. It took me five hours, over a quart of white of which I am sure I was wearing most and numerous pretty colours, a whole roll of paper towels, about 50 popsicle sticks and paint everywhere! Thank goodness I put plastic down because my table was covered, I had paint up to my elbows on both arms and splattered on my glasses! My rings, watch and bracelet were covered, my iPhone and iPad and my dog who insisted on laying at my feet. I looked around and just started laughing at myself, my husband was in total shock and I learned a valuable lesson. Just because your a good artist in other mediums doesn’t mean you can do this perfectly the first few times!! I have so much more respect for you and the other ladies skills and talents to produce such stunning works in half an hour or so! I wish I had videoed it all because it would have given you all a good chuckle! Thank you for the wonderful videos which I’m now watching over and taking notes this time! 😂♥️🇨🇦
Hi bonnie! Oh my goodness, your storytelling of this made me feel like i was there! Lol. The jewelry must come off. I have acrylic paint in the crevices of my wedding ring that may never come out, hahaha. No, it is not as easy as it looks at all, but pike any other craft or skill in art it just takes practice! I hope you had an amazing time doing it! Will you try again?
Such a shame Molly. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it. So glad you show us the things that can go wrong as well as the successes (which are many!). 😀
Molly, I have run into this problem with the artists' loft black and white premixed paints. Their phthalo blue kind of does the same thing but is such a beautiful color I put up with it. I really love how this painting looks.
I remember that Artist Loft changed their formula, especially in the white but also black. The formula that they used does eat away at the paint and leaves millions of cells. So mixing the Amsterdam paints instead of Artist loft flow acrylic paint for negative space is the way to go to eliminate the crater amount of cells. The painting is very interesting!
I know you don't like the sides and view it as a mistake but given the colors it looks like a rustic border to the painting. It reminds me of a filter you can add to photos. Its a very beautiful piece!
If you wouldn't have told us about the black doing that to the edges, I would have thought that was just part of the beauty of the piece, I think it looks great! Thank you for inspiring us!🤗
Me also as this would be a success for me and I'd be proud,👍🇭🇲
Yup, agree, I think it looks lovely. All you have to do is say, "I meant to do that!" 😆
This is really nice. It seems to me that the black around the edges is just part of the piece - like the finishing touch. Love the metallics
Molly, I would not worry about the edges, it gives it kind of framed look! Nice piece!
I like the effect the black gave, it makes it a lot more interesting. I know it's not the look you wanted but it is still gorgeous.
Also like the "accidental" black. Gives a pop of contrast to the softer shades. Also adds an interesting texture to the whole piece. I think it has the look of petrified wood which to me is beautiful.
I absolutely love this. I don’t actually mind the black around the side It kind of frames it. Thanks Molly
I like the way the black is around the edges. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
This is beautiful as is. The black and cracking makes it look more like a slice of wood. ❤
I love this piece and your step-by-step video. I especially appreciate your showing the results from your "mistake with the black paint. Thank you!!
As always, I love them all. The last one, IMO, looks cool with the black around the edges.
Looks like a sliced geode placed on a forest floor where lichens grow. Beyond the beauteous swirls of color, one can easily drift into perceiving flowing human forms. I love watching your paintings. ❤️ ❤️

The copper goes with all your color choices!!!
Just stunning! I'm definitely going to try this technique
After watching you do this I did my first acrylic pouring painting and love the results. Thanks for showing us how to do this.
You are so welcome!

Soooo organic. Great sense of calm. Love it!
It’s beautiful, the black makes it look organic. As always, looking forward to your next creation 😊
I love it, the imperfections of the edges make it perfect to me
A dark purple and yellow some red ìtislovely good night
Beautiful colors together. ❤ I think the black edge just adds a little character to it. But it's your painting so do what makes you happy. 😊
Wow Molly. I needed to watch you and hear you laugh. I am in a very bad mood from a bad selling experience, but you can make me laugh and feel better. It is a very beautiful painting.
Agree 100% with below. You have the EYE! But I gotta say, I like how it frames out the design, and how it adds texture. Looks super-Natural!
Beautiful marble coffee table Vibes
I love the metallics and I think gold leaf around this painting would be beautiful!
I love the new pour!
I think it is beautiful! It is not a loss at all! I don't mind the black! Even your oopsies are beautiful! 😍🥰

I like this one Molly. I think the gold leaf around the edges will look beautiful too. 👍😃

I honestly like it as-is, but gold leaf around the sides would also look amazing!!
Regardless of the black around the edges its a beautiful painting and just looks like black edging from a distance

Molly. I am a novice fluid artist but I have come to enjoy doing metallics only with my paintings. I really would love to show you how they come out.

It is very pretty Molly. I would love to see you put Copper or Gold leafing around it.
Thanks for showing us what artist loft and water does. It’s very pretty though. I like it. Maybe a mix of gold and copper leaf may be nice??

Beautiful
Hi Molly, I love those colors, will have to try it, although I will probably use some sort of pouring medium, I havent tried just paint and water yet.

I love to watch all of your pouring and colors you use together. Will this technique work on fabric? I sh use a particular kind of paint? ❤
