'Is the microphone on?' The first Jimi tune I learned, as opposed to Hey Joe, Purple Haze, etc. This song transcends biology for me. Makes me understand why Jimi would want to leave this dying planet and violent humans. Great rendition, old fella.
I am an amateur guitar player and a big Hendrix fan. I have known his best friend and bass player Billy Cox for almost 40 years. I learned the intro to this song and went to his house to play it for him (he is on the studio version of this song). As I started to play he stopped me and said, "Wait a second let me get my bass" and he plugged in and played along with me (the same sequence you do on bass here). It was one of the highlights of my life I kid you not. Such a beautiful piece of music. You do a great job on it here.
How lucky you are to have Billy Cox as a friend. I would have liked that too. And it must have been magical to play that part of the song with him. I have always loved this song both for its musical poetry and for its lyrical poetry. Jimi Hendrix magic at its finest. Thank you for sharing and for the good comment.

The art of simplicity. Hendrix's music was so diverse, yet many people complicate all of their music making it monolithic. Most people love diversity, I wish more musicians would make their sound more diverse, and experiment more with the mood of music, instead of speed.
Well-done 🙏 💜 it's fabulous track i lovit .. Jimi Hendrix wanted start anew world without war peace love a new rising ☀️ looking at way we are today .. we'll 🙏💜✌️
Excellent work! Really enjoyed the watch. Watched it again. One of my favorite Hendrix songs. Never learned it, but think I'm going to now. Maybe not on drums and bass though. Cheers, man.
Merci! Au début je voulais juste me faire une backing track car je ne trouvais rien de satisfaisant puis, de fil en aiguille, j'ai monté cette vidéo. J'ai eu beaucoup de plaisir en chemin 🙂
Fantastic!!!!! Very good reconstitution of the Jimi Hendrix sounds. We can even think that it's better played than Hendrix himself as he never really had time to record meticulously his creations.
Wow!Oh nostalgie lorsque tu j'attrapes 🙃 souvenirs souvenirs..... Il me manque que le feu!J'ai toujours autant de plaisir à t'écouter Claude Tellement de talent!Xxx
Excellent. One of my favourite Hendrix songs. It's nice to see others who appreciate it as well. It's on my to do list, but you've set the bar quite high now. I've been thinking of getting some electronic drums and yours seem to do the job quite well. Which model are you using? Merci, Bob Glass (aka Lewis Change)
Thanks Bob. I always loved this song, its musical construction and its lyrics. It was a challenge to play this song and it took time to learn all the parts and to assemble it all. I remember that I was very moved the first time I started the second part, just after the intro. like a dream that becomes accessible 🙂The drum is an old Roland TD3 but I think it was routed through Fxpansion BFD3.

Mega song, with so much feeling, not just scale runs.
Great job! Before alien abductions became a 'thing,' Hendrix was singing "May I come along? ... Please take me."
