These movies inspired me to jokingly try starting an a capella group with friends for almost all of middle and high school. Closest I came was convincing a group of people to walk down the halls singing with me, but that was still an absolute blast

Honestly, in the third riff off everybody else were jerks and the Bellas just wanted to do something fun and team building.
Jerks? They played to their strengths. Performance and instrumental. The Bellas came off as children who weren't getting their way. The other team was having fun while goofing off. The Bella's were trying to win at something that wasn't even a comp.

Like a competition for music like a debate or something if its ladies in 80s you have to sing ladies song not in 90s but in 80s ..if you go of tune or wrong lyrics or delay your cut off
Could be because the rules change from the first to the second. In the first, there was a category, but if you wanted to jump in you also had to match a word in what the other group was singing to switch to your group. In the second, it was just when the host pointed to you and it doesn't seem like you have to match a word.
