The DJ makes these performances so much better! The beats are amazing, he has already produced them, he stands sways, has a beer and enjoys his music, love it.
If it weren't for the web Sleaford Mods would have disappeared into obscurity long ago. The chances of true artists like these guys even getting a platform, never mind gaining the loyal fan base they've acquired is virtually impossible today thanks to the modern music industry. God bless the internet!
been waiting for a group like this. To blend punk rock tempo and basslines with electronica sucessfully could only come organically. wonderful lyrics there is hope for the world.
Things that shouldn't work but do, spectacularly. Sleaford Mods have come to kick the shit out of the corpse of rock, punk and popular music in general.
Came here from the new Orbital track. I feel cheated that I've wasted so many years not knowing Sleaford Mods existed. Absolutely note perfect, punk to the core, huge Teaches of Peaches energy, f'n magic.
Pleasantly surprised to see Sleaford Mods getting any kind of attention or following in the USA. I think those of us in the UK and Europe easily forget how culturally diverse and adventurous many Americans are because we only tend to see mainstream Hollywood/media depictions of the states.

Don't think I can express how much I love them!! Saw them yesterday in Glasgow, one of the best gigs EVER. The energy was amazing, they were so passionate, angry yet so amusing. Stunning, STUNNING performance!!!
Perhaps you watched 24 Hour Party People and heard that Manchester sound from Joy Division, New Order and others back in the 80s. English Punk and Fuck me, we need it more than ever now in a Homogenized world. I haven't heard core emotion like this in music for some time.
I find them fantastic and think they have a good attitude. What a fascinating performance, like it very much! I could listen to and watch them for hours. Charismatic, great musical feeling and very subtle Sprachgefühl. Would love to see them live here in Germany this year!
KEXP seem to post the best sound recordings of anyone they present, partly what makes this set so good, you hear it properly, listened to a bunch of stufff on their channel tonite, didnt like alot of it but the production is real good
The seriously tight rhythmic delivery of the vocals works soooooooo brilliantly with the beats. Jason delivers the truth in a kind of tourette way, love it.
I used to be an elitist music snob. I probably would have stuck my higher educated nose up at this, but I've grown up, lived life, been an actual adult, and now this just hits me to my fucking core.
This stuff is so good, the lyrics might be a bit regional for yanks but the message is clear: everything is fuckt and shite and boring. They are best thing band wise outta England for fucking ages
Just discovered 'em 3 days ago (second week of January 2020) on a cheesy french Netflix series, been listening non-stop since! My girlfriend and I just felt in love with that sound. I absolutely dig the minimalist/P.I.L./old-school punk vibe of it! I think I'm addicted! Hope they'll come to Canada (Montréal) someday, there's just nothing like it here. Good job, KLXP. I definitely saw a lot of good shit on your show! :)
absolutely superb poet and quality tunes takes me back to the good old days of underground punk ( not the commercial shit! ) keep it up lads and massive respect to you both
If it weren't for Stewart Lee i would have never heard of Sleaford Mods. One of the many brilliant things he has done, along with pretty much anything else he does.
He's a huge fan. He interviewed them for the nme which was where I found out about them. Like the other guy said he also wrote that review and when he curated all tomorrow's parties last year they were one of the headliners.
Punk isn’t dead it’s just different. I wish I could claim that comment but I can’t, someone else said it on another sleaford vid. Never a truer word said.
Haha love that they talk about how hard it is not to swear for the radio show, then go into Dull as the last song with no attempt at censorship at all 🤣
These are very English in their musical content and I'd of thought Americans wouldn't get it? The Smiths were very English too I suppose and everybody on the planet got them! Jobseeker is a fucking tune!!
I am 72 this year and this the most amazing music ever.
i am 80 and i approve!
Just turned 93 and agree with both you youngsters!
I love seeing all the older fans still loving great music.
You're deluded.
It’s the voice of the English working class - and that’s a bloody rare thing now.
John Peel would have loved this band!!
imagine if JP were still around... would make this shite era a bit more liveable.
Definitely get a special imo.
I'd never be one to predict the musical tastes of the great man but I think you're right :)
Of course he would have!!!
Indeed
The DJ makes these performances so much better! The beats are amazing, he has already produced them, he stands sways, has a beer and enjoys his music, love it.
He gives him cues too, like any tight team.
He shakes his head greatly.
He literally stands there everytime. If it's a one hour show he'll just stand there the entire time as well. genius xD
I know, right?

The boys are so tight live. Prob one of the best gigs I've been to in Australia.
I was thinking there was something missing in this performance and then I realized the laptop guy doesn't have a beer in his hand. Too early, I guess.
Needed a cuppa Tetley's.

also a good fuck you to every "electronic music is not real music all u do is press play!!!!!"

I fucking love the Sleaford Mods, seen them last year in Sheffield, and last week in my hometown of Nottingham, and they were fucking excellent.

Every fucking time I get into an artist, a few months later a KEXP set turns up. You guys are on top of the game.
Things that shouldn't work but do, spectacularly. Sleaford Mods have come to kick the shit out of the corpse of rock, punk and popular music in general.

Modern-day punk. Simplicity, not giving a f**k, and just getting to the point. I like it. 👍
Saw these guys live a few years ago. Blew me away and life has never been the same since. Awesome.
I have already gave up the idea that nowadays there is something interesting in music but then I found these guys.
cikuuzis can't be looking that hard. Nearly everything on kexp is great imo. Some much better than this for me.

A bit of Jello Biafra, a bit of John Cooper-Clarke, a bit of old school hip-hop, a bit of post-punk industrial, a lot of attitude.

His moves are legendary 👌👌
There's an entire earlier generation that sees him and thinks 'Bez'. Iykyk.
