Hi Jamie, do you know if the government is prioritising onshore applications (e.g. 186, 190) or the offshore ones? I am onshore, waiting for my application to be assigned to an officer and I'm worried they are prioritising offshore ones. Any insight is appreciated, thanks!

They are prioritising onshore applications within the Priority industries (generally those listed on the PMSOL). There has been a backlog since the start of the pandemic but it seems like they have opened more spaces and attempting to catch up to the backlog at the moment. So I would say if yours is onshore they will most likely get to it before offshore applications. Hope this insight helped.

There is no exact time frame for this it depends on the individual application and if all the relevant documents required were included. There was a significant backlog of applications from the pandemic and travel restrictions so processing times have been longer than normal.
