as a proud owner of a bomber, I really didn't realize the foams mattered that much, so thanks for the info, an I think I'll be going with the same tire an foam combo you have made mention of going with, thanks for the info again
very informative Harley👊 the guys on the forum say this is the biggest bang for the buck💸 dramatic improvement!! oho bought two center CVDs for my Vanquish AR60 XL conversion.. look for the BHB BOMBER XL 2028😱 finishing up the XLX and the XL-T twin 2200 C.c motored speedrunner/pitbasher
Wow I just went with the same foam set up. Major difference from stock foam my Bomber was a little heavy with the Currie axels I was beating my KMC wheels but not now. Car runs awesome now thanks bud!
An interesting way I was taught about what some Foams do is.... They sort of correspond to Tire Pressure! Stock Foams - 12-16psi CI Double Deuces - 18-28psi (depending on outer Foam density) CI Deuces Wild - 32-44psi ..... Other Brands can vary in the medium-soft to medium range (20-30psi), but there's no real Science to any of it. Just Rule of Thumb! 😉 Carmine 💥 ⛽
Just beginning T this but can you tell me about sizing? There’s so many sizes. I have 2.2 VP bullies want to put 2.2 hyrax. So do I go with the 5.5 size foam then? Or 6? Hyrax is 5.75
I'm pretty new to crawling so this may be a dumb question but the foam links go to foams that are 5.5", will these fit my 1.9 wheels/tires? On a side note, my next vehicle was going to be the Wraith but I have switched to the Bomber for sure.
Hi Harley, very useful video, thank you. In looking at buying my first trail/crawler off road car, what would you recommend between the new Bomber kit and the Yeti kit, from versatility and fun point of view?
I certainly understand running a different rear tire foam to help reduce front end raising, wheelies..which rear foam (firm) are you suggesting.. Link bad for rear tire foams..(09-10-16 @ 2:37am EST)..Is this correct >> crawlerinnovations.com/double-deuce-5-0-comp-cut-inner-firm-outer/
hey Harley I have a question I have a rr10 bomber and my passenger side front axle keeps breaking it's mostly stock with a cc sw3 esc and 3300kv bl motor any idea why or how to fix it I'm on my 3rd one in two weeks ?
+Michael K never seen a tire rip from being vented. Not from me or anyone who does it. Many foams will not vent through the inner portions, this is referring to a closed cell foam. With many popular wheels, including vanquish and Incision being a 3 piece wheel, it is a more difficult path for the air to travel. For all these reasons and more, venting tire's is the preferred method of almost all the top drivers in this segment.

+Timothy Struven you'll be more than shocked at the difference.
I know it has to be more work but I do enjoy the videos more when you splice in actual run time action. Thanks!
+hh65flyer when I have the video that actually applies to the video and is interesting to see, I also like to add it.

So Harley, has the Bomber replaced the Wraith as your favorite truck?
+Benbot for sure. Hands down my favorite car. I probably won't own a wraith any longer.
What's the main reason
I'm pretty new to crawling so this may be a dumb question but the foam links go to foams that are 5.5", will these fit my 1.9 wheels/tires? On a side note, my next vehicle was going to be the Wraith but I have switched to the Bomber for sure.
+Tommy Bizzell Crawler Innovations has foams specifically for your 1.9 tire's called Lil Novas. Those are what you would want for your truck.

I have updated the links in the description.

+James Huffstutler I have an episode on axle shafts in this series. Go back and check that episode.
Why do you vent the tire instead of just doing the rim? Feel like that would make an opportunity for it to rip.

it's not a budget build if you are spending money on foam
Actually.... it IS. Crawler Innovations Foams are really not expensive, and the Performance gains are Impressive!
