people including me have problem with joker portrayal in this movie. so what actually happened behind the scene is WB told David Ayer to reshoots this movie to make it more fun and funny, problem is David Ayer is serious director, so WB hired trailer company to do marketing and editing without David Ayer's involvement. the result is this movie. David Ayer said his cut is exist and he want to release it but he need to wait WB greenlight. he already post 2 scenes, first one is joker scene he appeared in climax battle, another scene is joker henchmen with panda and batman mask rushing into Arkham asylum which is similar to what this movie did but with different tone (serious tone). he also post a few pictures with each character

The issue with the suicide squad was studio interference. Allegedly there is another cut of the movie that David ayer put forward that will never see the light of day, but from what I hear via various leaks it is infinitely better, but was considered to dark even by WB

David Ayer said he had to sit and clap while the executives tried to turn the movie he worked so hard into Deadpool. Because that's what was getting positive attention at the time. And when the movie did bad they blamed David and he took responsibility for something he didn't do. Today we have a new regime again. But I highly doubt that James Gunn is interested in releasing a film that makes his movie look like shit. So I have no hopes for an AYER CUT.
Glad you didn't skip this one. I'm one of the (very!) few who likes it a lot. Will Smith is great as, well, Will Smith, and Margot Robbie's Harley steals every scene she's in. Like most DC movies, it's darker than the MCU, but unlike most DC movies, it still delivers on the wackiness. I'm not blind to the film's flaws, but it's still a lot of fun.
I liked the movie, but as far as I can tell this movie killed the pope from how some people act. i didn't like this joker at all but jeez it was so hated, I'd believe it was secretly promoting genocide lmao

The Deadshot intentionally missing scene is meant to illustrate two points. 1) You just in the previous two scenes, saw Waller kill people she worked with and who trusted her just because they weren’t “cleared” for intel and she’s supposed to be a “good guy.” Deadshot not taking his shot on Harley is meant to show you, there are some contracts Deadshot won’t take for moral reasons and you can’t dangle a carrot on a stick and expect him to fall for it. 2) It’s also meant to illustrate Deadshot is street smart, not to mention just saw Waller kill a bunch of her own people, so maybe trusting her to deliver for you isn’t the best move, he would know someone like Amanda Waller just says what she wants to get what she wants. She wouldn’t go through all the trouble of recruiting him just to set him free. Sorry I’m a HUGE DC guy. Flash is my favorite outta the traditional DC heroes, but Reverse Flash is my favorite villain and John Constantine is my favorite character.
also to not forget, prior to Harley getting corrupted by the joker, she is a fully qualified Psychotherapist, so she's not actually dumb, she does however, play it up to fool others. it's fairly accurate to the origin story, it remains to be seen if she has a poison immunity she got from Poison Ivy (they were besties in the DCAU where she was introduced and she got various injections derived from ivy's blood, so she's immune to her toxic nature). also to note, she is also a very capable gymnast, so she's more agile and dexterous than most in this house we love us our killer queen
While this movie isn't without flaws, it's not near as bad as most people make it out to be. They did the best they could cramming too many characters into a tight timeline and it works pretty well for me. Lots of studio interference on this film as well. Jared Leto's Joker gets a bad rap. I like this portrayal. It's not my fave but I respect them for trying something different. Too many people only want to see exactly what they've seen before. People have Heath Ledger's portrayal up on a pedestal as the best thing to ever happen to cinema and shit on anything else. Overall I like this movie and I don't think it deserves all the crap it gets. Some yes, but not all.
Would have been so much better if studio didnt mess with it. Lots of clips out there that is more like the real abusive relationship between joker and harley, but they wanted it this way so were cut away.
Thing is, this tattooed pretty boy Joker in designer duds is the Joker from the Dark Knight Returns universe. Frank Millers iconic, record breaking series that revolutionized the comics industry. He's been around since the late 1980's so no, they weren't trying something different with leto. They simply gave us a character from one of the top 5 best selling batman titles of all times
Can’t agree. Plenty of ensemble movies do more and much better. Gunn’s The Suicide Squad is an easy comparison. This movie is a tragedy. Quinn was salvageable. The rest need to stay dead.
As I’m sure many commenters have pointed out, Harley Quinn is one of those rare characters that actually made her debut in Batman The Animated Series (to give Joker an accomplice similar to Batman’s) and the character was such a fan favorite of the show she quickly was adapted to the comics. Her comic book run is more in tune with Task Force X (The Suicide Squad) thus why she was intro in this film.

Glad you enjoyed it. It's an OK movie, but never hated it. I always gave props to DC for even making the film, something different and never thought I would see Suicide Squad made into movie.It's like the Dirty Dozen with a comic book twist. Harley Quinn was definitely a highlight, kid me would never have thought seeing a cartoon character make the transition to live action. Also, Amanda Waller is great in this movie too, spot on and great casting.

This movie is a perfect example negative studio interference...you can see they had a certain idea for a dark moody picture but then the executives stepped in and ruined the whole thing.
I'm So glad your enjoying the DCEU. I never understood the line that if your a " marvel guy " you Can't like these movies or the famous DC movies Suck. Bottom line is if your into fun action movies, DC is great. I personally prefer DC over marvel but that's just my opinion. Can't wait for your ZSJL review. It's Epic!!
Actually, both Harley Quinn and the Joker have powers, but they are not canon or recognized by DC. They are both incredibly LUCKY. That is their super power, surviving events where others would have no chance.
@Himanshu Sharma No. literally not every character in fiction has that power. That's the superpower POPULAR CHARACTERS AND RELEVANT CHARACTERS have. Fiction also have fodders, red shirts and characters that are killed just to drive the plot or generate character development for popular and relevant characters.
I've always felt it was pretty easy to be crazier than the joker. Its why he's so terrifying because he's not actually crazy everything he does, every action he takes is planned and he's always in control. He's not mad, he just acts that way unlike the other villains like two face, penguin or even catwoman you can't anticipate the joker because he has no compulsions, no patterns you can use to trap him.

@@rebelmoon9059 Play the Arkham Batman origin game he's in control, has plans and when Batman saves him he becomes fascinated with the idea of breaking him and making him kill. Same with I think Batman Brave and Bold spends ages in an asylum till Batman comes out of retirement then comes out to drive him to kill him. The long, long term plan to turn Robin into a clone/mind transfered version of himself in case he's killed. The numerous other examples of complex plans with redundancies he employs to cause chaos, the fact he has as far as I know never actually been diagnosed with any mental disorder by multiple psychiatrists, psychiatrists in the case of Harley he essentially drove mad and made them fall in love with him. The very fact he repeatedly states "We're all just one bad day away from this" in regards to his actions shows that he's well aware what he's doing would be considered evil by society at large then does it anyway. I vaguely recall someone once saying he even know's he's a comic book character like Deadpool and responds accordingly as nothing matters.
@@rycarious That's from one of Dc's and comics most legendary and iconic comics ever. Arkham Asylum by Grant Morrison. That's also from Grant Morrison's batman run, Scott Snyder's Batman run, Metal by Snyder, Death Metal by Snyder and even the recent 3 Jokers else world by Johns all tell us this. Not to mention that since both the current Batman series and the current Tec series are building from Morrison's batman run, that's the literal canon right now as I'm typing this. Joker is sane and just acts crazy.

You should watch Wonder Woman 2017 next and then Zack's Justice League, also it's not the Extended version. It's his original vision which was butchered by the Studio when he left in 2017. Also there's a better cut of Suicide Squad as David Ayer, the director has pointed out. This suicide squad movie was reshot heavily and edited by a trailer company. Fans like us want to see his Original Vision too. Cools Reactions though, loved it.

This is not a bad movie, don't listen to people who hated this. It's actually better than the second one imo, more fitting into a coherent cinematic universe. Unfortunately, the studio tried to mess it up to fit the marvel tone. But still a great performance for all the actors.

Remember there’s a Directors Cut (The Ayer Cut) that is the first cut, and the one we want, this one is just like Justice League the execs at WB made them change it to what your watching, but we still want the Ayer Cut just like we got the Snyder Cit of Justice League/ZSJL
This movie definitely isn't as bad as people call it. Although, I sure would like to see David Ayer's actual vision. He says it's as different as Zack Snyder's Justice League is from the theatrical JL movie (and the difference was incredibly big and entirely for the better). If you ever want to see what the other cut had that and changed. Its really hard to sit through the 2017 theatrical. But theres some fascinating comparison videos of the differences between Zacks Justice League, and josstice league. After youve gotten to see the beautiful 4 hour epic, that is Zack Snyders Justice League. Glad youve been enjoying the DCEU

In the director’s original cut of this movie, Joker was supposed to angrily push her out of the helicopter (which is more fitting for their toxic relationship) then seemingly come in to try and kill everyone with grenades after the final battle.
Harley Quinn was an OC in Batman the Animated Series, which is on the short list of best superhero series, animated or otherwise. Quinn was so great, they brought her into the comics after.

amanda waller is one of the people that discover batmans identity very easily, amanda and batman has a long rivalry between them but through out the years she learns how to trust and show respect for batman and she is the reason why their is a futuristic batman and she named the project batman beyond
Harley isn't a comic character, atleast not originally, she was made especially for the animated shows and was sos uccesful that she became a thing in the comics. But basically yeah, the origin is the same
Watch the second! It's absolutely fantastic, with an actual plot. And actually a suicide squad, not just not one guy getting killed. It is so. much. better. James Gunn is a genius.
Newfie if you want to see a good representation of a task force x mission check out the justice leauge unlimited animated episode titled Task force X ,plus I would recommend watching the whole animated series it's prob one of the best animated superhero series ever
Batman, the master tactician. Ambushes the guy on a shopping trip with his young daughter then let’s her stand between him and the criminal with a gun. Pro Batman moves.
I hope someday we get the Ayer Cut because the theatrical version is really bad , but this extended one is the best we've got. At least it's better than the sequel.
everyone gives Leto s**t about his version of joker but if change the look get rid of the tattoos and the grill he's actually pretty good the voice the mannerisms the craziness all really well done
Deadshot isn’t really a bad guy. He’s a contract killer with morals. He found something he’s good at that he can make money to take care of his daughter. Pretty much all the versions of him I’ve seen he’s always cared about his daughter. The reason Deadshot didn’t shoot Harley he actually explains in the bar scene that he doesn’t kill women or children. I do like Leto’s version of the Joker especially with the silver teeth and tattoo smile on his hand. This is the Joker after he kills Robin and Batman almost kills him but instead knocks his teeth out.

To this day i can't exactly tell when Joker lies down surrounded with knives & guns in a semi circle formation that almost look like The Omega....a symbol of Darkseid, or just non referential coincidence. Cause Joker has a part in Bruce's future timeline in ZSJL.

Yes. There is a marvel character named Enchantress. Due to how generic the name is, it can’t really be trademarked the same way Batman or Spider-man can be. The word “Enchantress” existed before either DC or Marvel, so neither company could really claim it as solely theirs.
Im a marvel guy but i like this movie. Its all a good balance. But im a huge joker fam despite not knowing his whole story. I like crazy, unapologetically crazy characters

No ones crazier than the joker. That whole line was for " female impowerment" trying to make her seem better than the joker . But dumb Hollywood just called a woman crazier but also more fearless so it's ok
26:25 it makes no sense because they don’t set it up at all in the movie. They are borrowing from 89 Batman where Joker origin happens when Jack falls in the vat of chemicals. Quinn here is allowing Joker to put her through the same process. The acid is extremely toxic and would kill anyone else. At the very least, it would cause excruciating pain and scarring. Which totally comes across the way they are making out in it. No, this is not Harley Quinn’s actual origin story and I hope they don’t hold to it within the DCU either.

David Ayer said his original plan is to make steppenwolf as main villain but Snyder said why would steppenwolf fought suicide squad if steppenwolf searching for motherbox in justice league. so he sticked with Snyder's plans which is steppenwolf only did cameo at the end of movie. he also said his plan is to make parademon controlled by enchantress, but at the end WB execs want to reduce the cost by not making parademon but just minion soldier for enchantress

Yo IDK if you're interested, since it's a show, not movie, and it's quite the rabbit hole do get into. But if you wanna do the arrowverse shows, it would be quite epic.
Much like Justice League, this movie was changed dramatically from the original version by the studio to supposedly make it better, but if it’s anything like Justice League they made it drastically worse. Can’t say for sure because the original cut hasn’t been released, but likely most of the bad stuff in this movie was due to changes from the studio.

Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman was inspired by that series. It's his favourite comic, Miller is his favourite writer and a frequent collaborator. Zack Snyder's whole vision for the DCEU was heavily influenced by Miller's Dark knight universe and the tone of that world. Zack Snyder was in charge when this movie was made. Yet fans couldn't work out why they made the choices with Leto's Joker. they still could workout what comics series this version of the Joker was from. I guess comics really are a very, very very niche market.
Everyone likes to talk shit about Jared Leto’s joker , I think he’s freaking amazing!!! Seriously. To me he’s right there next to heath . Both very different but also truly unique and beautiful.
The old wb studio got involved in this movie late. The director say it’s a different movie. And wants his original movie to be released. Btw this movie it’s not so bad either.
I do like this movie (it's certainly better than the Joss Whedon Justice League). It has a lot of flaws, some of them major (the villains, for example), but there are good characters and some (at least for me) touching moments, and it doesn't take forever to get to the end. But, most importantly, it gave us Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. And, if you think about the three movies (so far) with Harley as a trilogy, each is better than the one before it, so there's that to look forward to. (Good job spotting the Love/Hate gun, by the way. And Harley got the cell phone from Griggs, the corrupt guard -- that's why Joker was threatening him and sitting in his lap and so on, to get him to slip Harley the phone.)
I think you would really enjoy the fox series gotham it gives backstory to a large majority of main dc characters and has really good storylines. It follows bruce Wayne as a kid after his parents murder and Jim gordon who try’s to find out who killed bruce’s parents
Ya the hate towards dc is pretty dumb, they offer a lot of heat. Heavy sci fi, fantasy, bad ass action. Snyder cut makes the whole journey worth it. I think if snyder had been allowed to do his thing, people woulda come around but the studio panicked.

The Deadshot intentionally missing scene is meant to illustrate two points. 1) You just in the previous two scenes, saw Waller kill people she worked with and who trusted her just because they weren’t “cleared” for intel and she’s supposed to be a “good guy.” Deadshot not taking his shot on Harley is meant to show you, there are some contracts Deadshot won’t take for moral reasons and you can’t dangle a carrot on a stick and expect him to fall for it. 2) It’s also meant to illustrate Deadshot is street smart, not to mention just saw Waller kill a bunch of her own people, so maybe trusting her to deliver for you isn’t the best move, he would know someone like Amanda Waller just says what she wants to get what she wants. She wouldn’t go through all the trouble of recruiting him just to set him free. Sorry I’m a HUGE DC guy. Flash is my favorite outta the traditional DC heroes, but Reverse Flash is my favorite villain and John Constantine is my favorite character.
also to not forget, prior to Harley getting corrupted by the joker, she is a fully qualified Psychotherapist, so she's not actually dumb, she does however, play it up to fool others.
it's fairly accurate to the origin story, it remains to be seen if she has a poison immunity she got from Poison Ivy (they were besties in the DCAU where she was introduced and she got various injections derived from ivy's blood, so she's immune to her toxic nature).
also to note, she is also a very capable gymnast, so she's more agile and dexterous than most

While this movie isn't without flaws, it's not near as bad as most people make it out to be.
They did the best they could cramming too many characters into a tight timeline and it works pretty well for me.

Jared Leto's Joker gets a bad rap. I like this portrayal. It's not my fave but I respect them for trying something different. Too many people only want to see exactly what they've seen before. People have Heath Ledger's portrayal up on a pedestal as the best thing to ever happen to cinema and shit on anything else.
Overall I like this movie and I don't think it deserves all the crap it gets. Some yes, but not all.

As I’m sure many commenters have pointed out, Harley Quinn is one of those rare characters that actually made her debut in Batman The Animated Series (to give Joker an accomplice similar to Batman’s) and the character was such a fan favorite of the show she quickly was adapted to the comics. Her comic book run is more in tune with Task Force X (The Suicide Squad) thus why she was intro in this film.

Glad you enjoyed it. It's an OK movie, but never hated it. I always gave props to DC for even making the film, something different and never thought I would see Suicide Squad made into movie.It's like the Dirty Dozen with a comic book twist. Harley Quinn was definitely a highlight, kid me would never have thought seeing a cartoon character make the transition to live action. Also, Amanda Waller is great in this movie too, spot on and great casting.

Actually, both Harley Quinn and the Joker have powers, but they are not canon or recognized by DC. They are both incredibly LUCKY. That is their super power, surviving events where others would have no chance.

I've always felt it was pretty easy to be crazier than the joker. Its why he's so terrifying because he's not actually crazy everything he does, every action he takes is planned and he's always in control. He's not mad, he just acts that way unlike the other villains like two face, penguin or even catwoman you can't anticipate the joker because he has no compulsions, no patterns you can use to trap him.

Same with I think Batman Brave and Bold spends ages in an asylum till Batman comes out of retirement then comes out to drive him to kill him. The long, long term plan to turn Robin into a clone/mind transfered version of himself in case he's killed. The numerous other examples of complex plans with redundancies he employs to cause chaos, the fact he has as far as I know never actually been diagnosed with any mental disorder by multiple psychiatrists, psychiatrists in the case of Harley he essentially drove mad and made them fall in love with him. The very fact he repeatedly states "We're all just one bad day away from this" in regards to his actions shows that he's well aware what he's doing would be considered evil by society at large then does it anyway. That's also from Grant Morrison's batman run, Scott Snyder's Batman run, Metal by Snyder, Death Metal by Snyder and even the recent 3 Jokers else world by Johns all tell us this. Not to mention that since both the current Batman series and the current Tec series are building from Morrison's batman run, that's the literal canon right now as I'm typing this. You should watch Wonder Woman 2017 next and then Zack's Justice League, also it's not the Extended version. It's his original vision which was butchered by the Studio when he left in 2017. Also there's a better cut of Suicide Squad as David Ayer, the director has pointed out. This suicide squad movie was reshot heavily and edited by a trailer company. Fans like us want to see his Original Vision too.

In the director’s original cut of this movie, Joker was supposed to angrily push her out of the helicopter (which is more fitting for their toxic relationship) then seemingly come in to try and kill everyone with grenades after the final battle.
Harley Quinn was an OC in Batman the Animated Series, which is on the short list of best superhero series, animated or otherwise. Quinn was so great, they brought her into the comics after.

Deadshot isn’t really a bad guy. He’s a contract killer with morals. He found something he’s good at that he can make money to take care of his daughter. Pretty much all the versions of him I’ve seen he’s always cared about his daughter. The reason Deadshot didn’t shoot Harley he actually explains in the bar scene that he doesn’t kill women or children. I do like Leto’s version of the Joker especially with the silver teeth and tattoo smile on his hand. This is the Joker after he kills Robin and Batman almost kills him but instead knocks his teeth out.

To this day i can't exactly tell when Joker lies down surrounded with knives & guns in a semi circle formation that almost look like The Omega....a symbol of Darkseid, or just non referential coincidence. Cause Joker has a part in Bruce's future timeline in ZSJL.

Yes. There is a marvel character named Enchantress. Due to how generic the name is, it can’t really be trademarked the same way Batman or Spider-man can be. The word “Enchantress” existed before either DC or Marvel, so neither company could really claim it as solely theirs.

26:25 it makes no sense because they don’t set it up at all in the movie. They are borrowing from 89 Batman where Joker origin happens when Jack falls in the vat of chemicals. Quinn here is allowing Joker to put her through the same process. The acid is extremely toxic and would kill anyone else. At the very least, it would cause excruciating pain and scarring. Which totally comes across the way they are making out in it. No, this is not Harley Quinn’s actual origin story and I hope they don’t hold to it within the DCU either.

Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman was inspired by that series. It's his favourite comic, Miller is his favourite writer and a frequent collaborator. Zack Snyder's whole vision for the DCEU was heavily influenced by Miller's Dark knight universe and the tone of that world. Zack Snyder was in charge when this movie was made. Yet fans couldn't work out why they made the choices with Leto's Joker. they still could workout what comics series this version of the Joker was from.
I guess comics really are a very, very very niche market.

The old wb studio got involved in this movie late. The director say it’s a different movie. And wants his original movie to be released. Btw this movie it’s not so bad either.
I do like this movie (it's certainly better than the Joss Whedon Justice League). It has a lot of flaws, some of them major (the villains, for example), but there are good characters and some (at least for me) touching moments, and it doesn't take forever to get to the end.
But, most importantly, it gave us Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. And, if you think about the three movies (so far) with Harley as a trilogy, each is better than the one before it, so there's that to look forward to.
(Good job spotting the Love/Hate gun, by the way. And Harley got the cell phone from Griggs, the corrupt guard -- that's why Joker was threatening him and sitting in his lap and so on, to get him to slip Harley the phone.)

I think you would really enjoy the fox series gotham it gives backstory to a large majority of main dc characters and has really good storylines. It follows bruce Wayne as a kid after his parents murder and Jim gordon who try’s to find out who killed bruce’s parents
Also I fully reject this joker being the main joker of the DCU lol

Ya the hate towards dc is pretty dumb, they offer a lot of heat. Heavy sci fi, fantasy, bad ass action. Snyder cut makes the whole journey worth it. I think if snyder had been allowed to do his thing, people woulda come around but the studio panicked.
