🇲🇾 3 COURSES for $6?! NIGHT MARKET challenge at Malaysia's LONGEST Pasar Malam! 🍴

- Опубликовано: 28 сен 2024
- We challenged each other to buy a 3 course meal for under 30 ringgit at Malaysia's longest Pasar Malam!
Everyone, meet Joel and Charlotte!
Joel is my brother and Charlotte is his girlfriend, but also (conveniently I may add), Emma's best friend! They came to Malaysia to celebrate Joel's 30th birthday before moving on to Bali and Vietnam to continue their celebrations.
Whilst they were in Malaysia though, we thought we'd take the opportunity to have a bit of fun and they were craving street food from a pasar malam, so Charlotte came up with the idea to see who could buy the best 3 course meal with only RM30 (roughly £5).
Let us know in the comments who you think won, and if you'd like to see more of Joel and Charlotte in the future, it was so much fun having them on!
If you want to follow their time in Malaysia, Bali and Vietnam whilst they were here, they have been updating it on their TikTok: / lottie_mayo16 - go give them a follow and we'll see you soon!

@@DisappearforDays Thank you. 😀

She is right, in south east asia proper meals must have rice or noodles. Breaded products are considered snacks. I think the issue is when choosing the meal everyone's going for what they like rather than what constitutes a proper meal. Start with the main first then go for the dessert or other snacks that would go well with that.
We hadn't thought of any proper tactics going in to it, but I think yours definitely works better! Sort the main, then branch out to the others which may be more flexible!
Great video! I find it very amusing when you thank the local (Chinese) pasar malam stall owners with a “terima Kasih” - yes, we are a multicultural society here in Malaysia living fairly harmoniously together, but I have to say that speaking BM to these folks is extremely uncommon - quality entertainment though for the video and some of them appeared to chuckle too. Cheers
Not just terima kasih, but pedas as well
We are admittedly useless at getting it right and I think the default is just to go to BM 😅 we are learning the distinctions between everyone though and I'll be sure to be saying xie xie next time 😂
Shud say share share knee not terima kasih

Thanks for the recommendation, we may be heading to Jakarta next year, so keep an eye out to see if we take it! 😀
Great video ❤ by the way if you guys went to pasar malam that the vendor was mostly sell Malay cuisine will be many varieties to be choose and even some pasar malam the price can be lot cheaper.
Have to agree with you @syawanfaiz89
We will have to check more of a Malay Pasar Malam next time! Maybe with RM20 in that case? 😉😂
@@DisappearforDays sure with the rm20 gonna be enough 1 main food, 1 dessert & 1 food for night market price. 👍 Hope you guys will find the right night market with various type of food.
The longest pasar malam has actually changed to the Setia Alam pasar malam
True. Think that is in Shah Alam area right?
@@minixfb5383 yes
Oh interesting, we had no idea it had been over taken by Setia Alam! It'll definitely be one we will have to visit soon. We love a pasar malam! 😅
@@DisappearforDays it was taken over a few years back but people tend to visit this one as it's nearer and easier to reach via train.

The girls definitely won. Even without the mystery surprise ending. 😂
Nooooo chance! I think there is some bias there for sure! 😒
@@DisappearforDays not biased at all!
girls win in this challenge in my opinion. hope to see more.
We will hopefully be doing a lot more food challenges like this, but unfortunately Joel and Charlotte won't be in them for a while as they've gone home! Stay tuned for more 🫶☺️
Should have bought the Stinky tofu for the gals to try 😂
We regret not doing that now considering they think they won! That would've put them in their place 😂

The gals ,food are more tasty
We girls know what food is best! 😉
I vote for the gals 😂
The boys need to step up their game don't they? We were disappointed 😂
The girls, hands down😂
Never!!! 😂 I haven't heard the end of it from Emma since everyone thinks the girls won! 😭
Wow amazing
It was such a fun challenge 😀
Gals main better than guys 🎉😂
No way! The chilli crab mantou was amazing and the girls knew it 😂
4p
Thank you for watching!
I thought Charlotte was Emma's sister They looked alike
Hahaha, they could definitely pass for it couldn't they!
Gals so fussy, guys food sound quiet delishious too! I say it is draw. Also can cook Maggi next day to eat with fish ball curie sorce
The food looks so tastey is this the gratest place to get dinnar wen traverling in Merlasier?
I thinc the crabe roles sownd soooo tastey. If u come 2 merleysha then u shud defernetley try it
The food was very bagus la, definitely a must try when in Malayshiya
My vote the girls... definately better choices
Exactly! The boys choices were rubbish! 😂
This is like Bargain Hunt but for Malaysian street food!!
Hahaha, it's such a great program, and it works so well in Malaysia with so many cheap options! ❤️😋
you got $6 and you want to spend it for stinky tofu? well, if you enjoy it, why not. 😄charlottte team dessert is my fav. i would get that if i go back to my hometown. not exactly a dessert for me. that would be a snack.
We don't think the girls would've liked it, so it would've been a perfect use of the $6 we think 😂 we love the Thai doughnuts as well! 😋

I vote for Ladies . ❤
Nooooo, we wont accept that! 😅😂
Selamat Datang.. Welcome to Malaysia guys.. ❤
Terimah kasih!! 🥰😃
Fun video! The girls definitely won this one. Sorry, fellas.
Thanks for watching and for the decision. The guys are fuming how many people agree! 😂
Do go to Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman night market
We'll have to go when we are back! Thanks for the recommendation ☺️
@@DisappearforDays you're welcome
girls for the win
Noooo, you can't have watched the full video! 😭 We boys tried our best at least 😅😂
Sorry guys, the ladies win for sure. A mantou bun, even with chilly crab don't cut it as a main.
Thank you Minixfb! The Mantou bun was good, but definitely did not deserve the win!
the guy in the sammon vest with the ponie tale looks like he's been in the Jim!
He look like he is lyfting the weyts. I think jeycob shold start lyfting some weyts too his legs r 2 skin knee
He just looks like a salmon, and smells like it. Arguably needs infinite more gains.
👍😁🇲🇾🏴♥️
🇬🇧 ♥ 🇲🇾 😃
I vote for the ladies
I was contemplating deleting all the comments voting the ladies, but I think that would leave the video with no comments 😂
I give it to the guys only because the chilli crab mantou looks damn tasty
But how to feed 2 girls as a main, though
It looks too good doesn't it?! That deserves the win in itself we think! 😤
You are absolutely right: when they saw them two, the pan mee cook will automatically reduce the pedas heat.
They know how to cater to their customers when they are western 😅😂
@2min1sec. "coursing thru our veins". Well, that over confidence for you, surely
They still believe they won to this day! 😂
Think the caption should be £6 as oppose to $6, ,just nit picking
We did debate this, but thought $6 would be a more recognisable currency for people 🙂
challenge ato kau!! dont be funny
Thanks for watching! ☺
Ah you brought another couple. Are they relatives?
Yes, the boy is Jacob's brother and his girlfriend is also Emma's best friend! 😃
