    Helped a lot. I've been checking over the internet and apparently it's an issue with the battery, unplugging it and then plugging it back into the computer does the trick I guess

      @@ItsBinhRepaired nah I've only had it for like 3 months, ima just keep doing that until it stops working. I don't think it's that specific battery anyways considering the issue is widespread and is solved by unplugging and plugging it back in. Either there is some issue with the wiring of that type of battery or some connected component, either way ima just keep doing that until it doesn't work anymore

      You should be able to visibly see is the chip is removable.

    Ty so much! I had the same model. It stopped working to turn on. I unplug the battery and tried with power plug and it worked again. I then tried to reput the battery and it works too!

    20:39 to help anyone who is trying to disconnect the cable to reuse it for a new battery, do NOT pull the wires or the connector. you do NOT need to remove any of the cables from the connector either, all you need to do is make sure the tape isnt stuck to the battery and pull the metal sides of the connector UPWARDS with a tweezer and it comes off easily. I almost broke it trying to pull it backwards which will not budge.

    Hi, Thanks for the video so I learned how to open the back of my m15 r7 and to be able to disconnect the battery so it would turn back on again :) the power light had turn red during the day while I played diablo 4 before it done this the morning after. You say the the cmos battery is inside the main battery ? By the way, this problem also happens to othe laptop brands like HP and other

    Is it ok to place a ssd on top of the wires that are in its spot? or should you try to reroute them when upgrading it?

      As long as it's not pushing up on the SSD it'll be fine

    I performed the bios update on my m17r5 that was just released on 10/08/2023 and it completed the update in like 2 minutes and restarted but now my laptop will not post, the screen stays black and the power button flashes 3 red and 6 blue, I don't know what I can do because I'm on a trip overseas atm and I really need it right now.

      Usually after a bios update you don't want to touch it for a few minutes, up to an hour. If you turned it off manually, you likely killed the motherboard.

    Mine lights up the keyboard backlight on the laptop but screen is completly off/dark. You have any idea what I cant reseat or check for?

    I already did this process on mine, but after turning it on again it worked without the power cable, but after a while it turned off completely and stopped working again without the power cable, and it doesn't charge the battery, it stays on. 87% is a new device with 3 months of use, can you tell me what could be happening?

    I know I’m a year late but if you see this do you know what could be the problem? my computer just won’t turn on like no power button codes or fans turning on etc. it just suddenly turned off while I was doing something else and haven’t been able to get it to power on ever since.

      Might be it overheated. Did you try disconnecting the battery and doing the power drain?

    I tried unplugging the battery and holding the power button and it won’t turn back on. Had it for a year and was at the gym for an hour yesterday and come back and now it’s just dead. Don’t know what to do now

      I did that but i guess i missed a screw. Unfortunately my sibling is dumb and kept using the pc. Now one of the fans is broken.

      @Tristan Strand You might want to ask how I'm able to open up every single laptop without someone telling or showing me how. If you watch enough of my videos and open up enough of them, you should be able to figure it out, like I do every time I work on a computer I've never seen before. I don't have a special magical brain or anything. I figured it all out without watching any videos or any teaching.

      @@ItsBinhRepaired thx for the info but what I mean is. here for example ruclips.net/video/MyXPCDi3_YA/видео.html with xmg you just have to open the cover. then you can directly remove fans to clean them without unscrewing anything else. with alienware you first have to remove all of the motherboard in order to reach and be able to remove the fans because its inverted

    You should have used a prying tool instead of you hand to avoid static current that can ruin the chips inside a pc or laptop

    Hey, so my I have this same laptop, and only the power button is glowing when I plug it in, and when I remove the plug, the power button goes off. Apart from the power button, nothing glows or responds. The screen is entirely black and it just doesn’t boot. What May be the issue here? Also why did this suddenly happen?

      Sounds like a failed motherboard :( you can try holding the power button for a minute.

      The main battery might act as the cmos battery.

      @@ItsBinhRepaired yeah, was looking for the CMOS battery itself, ended up figuring out it must be integrated into the laptop battery itself - took me a while. Then looked up online and turns out that’s how it is. Appreciate the response to my silly question :) Great video too, keep up the good work!
