BTS Suga openly disses Korean politician in “Am I Wrong”
Suga’s lyrics for “AM I WRONG” is gaining attention for his courageous jibe towards a Korean official. “Am I Wrong” is a track from BTS’s album, Wings, released in 2016, which was written and composed by American producer, Kevin Moore. However, Suga’s lyrics in the track gained attention after some sources speculated that he was referring to Korean Politician Na Hyang Wook who recently made an offensive remark saying, “The public people are like dogs and pigs.” Although the politician already made a public apology and stated that, “making inappropriate remarks as a public servant, distressing Korean people and causing a stir,” netizens and fans alike are questioning if Suga’s verse on the track was derived on that incident.
The lyrics on Suga’s part include, “We’re all dogs and pigs, we’re so mad we turn into dogs. A war between the big and the small errday. This crazy world yea makes us crazy. Now scream mayday mayday.”
Comments on online community board Pann, for example, had fans linking the connection and left comments such as “Is BTS gonna get banned on broadcast ㅋㅋㅋㅋ They diss the government everyday ㅋㅋㅋ”, ” Suga did say ‘I never dissed anyone specifically. If someone feels targeted, then it’s their problem’ ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Yeah, don’t feel targeted ㅋㅋㅋ” and ” I always feel that every BTS album has straight facts. They diss the government and officials amazingly. I hope they don’t get banned…”
I love this song so much. The live is great. I'm surprised they didn't get a ban for this since the were calling out government officials and well almost everybody.
And yes, this is definitely the nonsense I signed up for! 💜

♦️“Am I Wrong,” Wings (2016) One of the only blues-influenced tracks in BTS’ catalogue, “Am I Wrong” was co-written by Grammy Award-winning musician Keb’ Mo, who sampled his 1994 song with the same title. The funky rhythm and upbeat melody - with Jimin’s high note as its climax - belie the track’s somber message about apathy in the information age. “If what you see on the news is nothing to you / if that comment is nothing to you / if that hatred is nothing to you / you’re not normal, you’re abnormal,” raps RM. The song was provocative at the time of its 2016 release, when it was perceived as a clapback at a former South Korean Ministry of Education official who called for a caste system and referred to people as “dogs and pigs.” In his verse, Suga raps, “We’re all dogs, pigs, become dogs because we’re angry.”
📌Side Note: Even the choreography, as usual correlates, to the lyrics in the song! Especially at the part when BTS are all on all fours, when the lyrics comparing ppl to pigs or dogs, plus then seemingly pulling their hands & arms out of the muck & mire, which is metaphorical for the corruption & deceit that they are stuck in.
I knew the sample was Keb' Mo, but I had no idea he wrote the song. I have been listening to him for three decades or more. I love it when my musical worlds mesh.

Good to watch you being so into the beat, although I had some concerns for the chair lol! Laughed at them being on all fours - like a dog raising its leg and peeing on somebody! Maybe that politician's face? BTS are always merciless when dissing the powers that be who think they're better than other people and can just rule their lives. Would love to see you react to more of their early stuff.
