Put the tiles in the slots sideways (like they're on a bookshelf). They all fit perfectly and stick up so they can be pulled out easier. It threw me at first too, but it's actually a well put together box.
Ian Cochran thank you. I just realised this myself, the tiles fit sideways just fine. I do notice though that the slots in my version are quite a bit longer than Zee’s insert so perhaps Zee’s version wouldn’t fit all the tiles in sideways as it does in ours. Is yours longer also?
@Zee - Loved the review and just got my copies of Castellion and Onirim. Regarding the insert, stand the tiles on edge in the four bays and they all fit perfectly. I see you laid yours flat ;-)
As soon as i saw the objectives cards i felt how it should work. Well, except that it should be one character type in a structure and that you can't overbuild and the powers, etc. But yeah, feels intuitive. For one who played lots of Tetris :)
I picked this up but haven't played it yet, from your review and reading the rules I do think I'll rank it similarly. Sylvion was okay but Onirim is still my favorite. Regarding the insert, all of the tiles fit if you place them in the slots upright. The box closes just fine still, the tiles are easier to remove, and you end up with four pillars in the corners for the rules book to sit on.
For me, I love Onirim and like Sylvion. This game just doesn't work for me at all. I'm trying to get better at it and I'm hoping my opinion will change, but I've just not found it fun. I've yet to get beyond the first training scenario, and I'm sure I'll like it more with the powers. If you put the tiles stacked vertically instead of lying flat, they all fit into the insert. I was confused about that too.
I see others beat me to the punch about the tiles fitting vertically in the insert. Hope to see Zee review Urbion as well which is my favorite. Sylvion > Castellion > Urbion > Onirim
You should stack the tiles vert.. oh, wait :) Maybe they should put this into rules or on the back of the box. People are used to put components flat in the box.. But still, clever insert idea.
This looks like the puzzle of the tetris type. You get tile, you deal with it, move on. Can't wait to try this one. I love Onirim, it's great as single player and two player. And fast. But I also love Sylvion when I want something I need to think about more. This one seems like something in between those two. Great review, thanks :) Keep them comming!
There's a couple ways you can randomize the tiles without a bag. If you really want to geek out, you can arrange them in six rows of twelve, grab a 6-die and a 12 die, roll em, and select a tile from the corresponding row and column. Repeat until you have a stack of tiles selected from the grid. It doesn't take as long as you might think, and you will be guarenteed to have a stack of completely randomized tiles to choose from. A shorter method is to make six piles, shuffle each, and then roll a 6-die to decide which pile to draw from.
Hey Zee, I just bought this and watched your review. Super helpful. I felt the same way about the insert until I figured out if you stack the tiles on their side/upright they all fit. Yaaaaay!
@7:11 you say you can choose to initiate the ordeal whenever you're ready to, I don't think that's correct, unless I missed something the rules say you either do it when you reach the number of traitor tiles depicted on the ordeal or you do it once you have a full 6x6 grid completed.
There are no plans for a second edition. Sorry....Urbion came after Onirim, but before Onirim 2nd edition?!.....I am pretty sure, Urbion would have been a great success, but Z man games just don't like the idea of reprinting stuff.

@Ty Colson you guys always work together huh?

tiles fit in sideways as opposed to a stack
Top 10 solo games! Do eet! (Oh, and like everyone said, stack the tiles vertically. It's not perfect, but it does the job).
The tiles go away vertically not horizontally.

Zee, stack the tiles vertically.
Sylvion is my favorite
NO WAY! Sylvion is the best.
This one is the least i like in the series.
Same here. Sylvion is my favourite.
looks far better than Onirim - I'm not understanding the love for that game at all - messy rules to say the least
dante ferno messy rules? I find it to be one of the simplest rule sets in the series. What parts put you off? Curious
Seconding this, the tiles fit perfectly.... Just stack vertically.

Tiles fit perfect in the box, you just have em laying the wrong way lol... they go on their side! not flat :p

+silentlyjudging Looks like Sylvion is your favourite...?

Not sure whether anyones mentioned in previous comments but you can put the tiles on their side in the box!
After you complete a challenge do you build off the previous castle or does that castle get taken off the board? The rules don't really say
A bad insert is just a foam core challenge.

I just bought this game and its awesome and fast and beautiful
It is great to have all the 3 games, if Zman Games would start caring about making them available to more and more people.
Isn't Urbion the first one? Or is that not a part of the Oniverse?
Urbion was "second" one if you count whole Oniverse, in second edition it's not present. At least yet.

Cannot stand the "artwork" in this series. Waaaay too distracting.
