This video was very helpful! I appreciate you for taking the time to make this and for sharing your path with us :). I'm currently trying to get into Cloud Security. I recently got my Sec+ and studying for my CYSA+ and Pentest+; testing next month. I do have a few vms setup to play around on to make all my studies come together and make sense. I've been in IT for about 12 years now and decided it's time to move up. Cloud Sec definitely is the move for me; and I care to be more on the configuration side than the GRC side of things.! Hello Eng.Nicolas, I really enjoy your knowledgeable and driven presentation. Keep it up, Sir. I have a question for you. I'm a Junior in Security but am in dilemma about pursuing Cyber Security Engineer and Cloud Security Engineer Major, BS. As an expert in this field, Both fields have a promising future, high income, demand, and outlook. In Particular, Which one is more lucrative? Which has a better job outlook/security? I highly commend your thoughts.
I wouldnt worry too much about the A+. Maybe helpful to brush through some of the material but the you'll get more value out of the Network+ and Security+
Good evening, So I am in the Military and I am thinking about using what’s called csp program to go to secure set academy (it would be free to me). That academy will it prepare me for cloud based cyber?
Hi Nicolas! I appreciate how you explained it so well! I’m somehow in the same path, from sys engineer to cloud computing engr. And now thinking what to pursue next, and I hope to be cloud security engr/architect. However, moving to that field is kinda frustrating as no one would hire me since I don’t have security background. Is Comptia Cloud+ certification and CSA CCSK a good one? These are the only two certification that doesnt need any experience requirements. Also what type of class do you suggest for us (who has background experience in cloud) to take?
Hi and thanks for your comment! The Cloud+ isn't a very valuable certification as its vendor-agnostic and wont prove to the hiring manager that you can perform the task necessary for the job. I would focus more of your time on getting AWS, Azure, or GCP certified and snagging that CSA CCSK in the process.
I think that they are fairly related. The engineering side can be more hands on in the cloud native security configurations. Architecture tends to be more high level planning, risk management, and advisory... But it all depends on where you work!
Hello Sir, I am currently pursuing my BTech in the Cybersecurity field and I wanna do a job in either Ethical Hacking or Cyber Security or AWS Cloud or DevOps or Cloud Security. So sir can I know what courses we need to learn for getting a job in any of those fields.
Learn some of the DevOps first. Learn cybersecurity basics and some cryptographic tools. Do some practice on network security and get certification of one of the cloud provider like AWS, AZURE or GCP. Then, you can gradually move towards cloud security role.

I already passed 4 exams right now like 1z0-1084-21, 1072, 1094 and 931, foundation is very easy its like a Kinder Garden exam since its open notes and most questions are in sample questions too. I'm planning to take the OCI Security Exams too when I'm done with the 997-21 exam, I hope I can passed too.

Amazing video. I think my issue is lack of experience in cloud security. I am currently an IAM specialist earning 110k yearly. How do i transition into cloud security keeping my salary the same or whatever skill i need to learn on the side?
Well sense you know IAM, I start by choosing a cloud environment and learning how IAM plays a role there. You can pick AWS, Azure or GCP and begin learning the basics... How does the cloud work... What are the services and architecture components. Maybe even get certified! Then begin to learn how IAM plays a role in it all (Native and Third Party) and go from there!

Hi Nic, really enjoyed the video, as someone coming from zero years in IT, what would you recommend I do to reach the role of cloud security engineer?
Get certified and play around in the cloud a lot! But certifications are great for learning the ropes and beginning to dig into the cloud.

Anything within governance risk and compliance is pretty non-coder related.
