this bands ability to unite in creative view is incredible, like how do they all collaborate and all bring their own parts and still make it cohesive? they consistently put out heat
[Chorus] There's a time and a place and a place that is now Take that smile off your face when you're dressed like a cow When you frolic around, legs in the air Smile on your face but it's covered in hair Do you want it? Do you want it? [Verse 1] You ran through the streets like the dog that you are And you hoped pretty soon you'd be struck by the car But the light of the day tries to keep you afloat While there's pain in your stomach and pain in your throat Do you want it? Do you want it? [Refrain] Mother would you take me, and on, and on For I have nothing, no more baby, she's gone, and on (3, 4) [Bridge] I tried to take the word on what you said I tried to take the word but it is dead Did we not want it? And in the light of day it all seemed well Or was it just a dream, she could not tell Perhaps you'd wanted it? [Chorus] There's a time and a place and a place that it's not Take that smile off your face when you're dressed like a cow When you frolic around with your legs in the air Smile on your face but it's covered in hair Do you want it all? Do you want it all? [Verse 2] Just imagine new life with a baby and wife But the [?] look like nothing compared to the knife But the money's not there, you just sit in despair [?] Curse at the sky, you could cry, it's not fair Do you want it? Oh Do you want it all? [Bridge] And after all the time had passed they finally found some peace at last Take him to the table where she wrote, she held herself a vote A vote between the good and bad, and all she'd seen and all she'd had Nancy tries to take the night, but now she's gone, removed from sight [Refrain] Oh and mother would you take me, and on, and on For I have nothing but my baby, she's gone, she's gone [Outro] If I could take it back now Would I take it back now? If he could take it (yeah) back (mm) now Would he take it all back now? Nancy took the night and she's gone, and on

@@Theocomicman agree but only to a certain extent. It only shares two chords (maybe 3?) with weird fishes, and second feels to me (and clearly them) as the natural lead on from the first, and then the song goes on a very BNCR crazy modulating tangent after that.
My undoubtedly far out take on these lyrics is it’s about a young person who was pregnant and partied and engaged in substance abuse resulting in the unborn baby dying. With Nancy being the name of the baby.
I've been thinking something along those lines too, or it could be about an unwanted pregnancy in general. especially with the lyrics on slut shaming ("take that smile off you face when you're dressed like a cow" and "you ran through the streets like the dog that you are"), and the continued use of "do you want it?"
I get why they keep using the same band but this is not BCNR..that being said it's not bad I like the stuff they are creating it's just not BCNR without Issac.
Huge disagree, specially when, in a band of 7, you want to say 1 define them all. It was previously said (and if you search for shows before the debut records release you'll see) that the songs were written and played a lot before published, so if you're saying that the bands sound changed, yeah, like it should when writing new stuff and even more while touring. Much like the ""old"" material, they're still perfecting it, and you can consider it the reason why the new record is a live recording instead of a proper in studio mixed and produced piece, like the other two albums. The band is missing one person, but the process is not that different, and now we got a community following the development of the songs. Issac will be missed, a lot, but he was still one piece in a band of seven.
The quality of modern recording devices opens up infinite opportunities for bootlegs. Thank you for the upload
charlie in the back on the banjo???? okayyyyyy
how are luke and lewis so in sync while playing such difficult lines? this band blows my mind every single day and i can't get enough of them
I’m hearing a bit of Cafe Penguin Orchestra, a bit of Joanna Newsom, and a whole lot of that BCNR special sauce. Incredible!

This one has more like a mysterious vibe. And I love that. For some reason it reminds me of Little Birds by NMH
Also like Riddle by Mammal hands, a rare and distinct feeling.

Does this remind anyone of weird fishes by radiohead?
Yeah I immediately thought the music was very Weird Fishes/Arpeggi. I have no problem with that
Yea the intro only tho, cuz its the same chords and in an arpeggio

Both songs seem to be greatly influenced by minimalist composer Steve Reich, particularly pieces like "Music for 18 musicians".
Absolutely incredible. I really hope we hear a studio version of this one day.

bro what is charlie doing in this song im sorry

Weird fishes at the start…?
Sounds great, but the opening chords sound a bit too much like Weird Fishes by Radiohead IMO.
It's just because there's arpeggios on guitar, the actual progression is pretty different.
oh yeah, I don't
For early christmas i want a Georgia bcnr song where she sings lead and there’s no saxophone at all. I will allow a flute.
