About the chant:
The fire of April 15, 2019, has endangered the nine centuries of heritage history of the cathedral of Paris. An architectural heritage shared by all humanity. Over the centuries, painting, literature, photography, cinema and music have enriched this collective imagination. By the end of the 12th century, the Notre-Dame school developed a sophisticated style that will spread throughout Europe.

I cried my eyes out as i saw it burning... my first ever Catholic Church i walked into, where i bought my first ever Rosary, lit my first prayer candle, and walked the way Royals did in their coronation...

Don't forget that in the aftermath, one of the first photos taken were of the Cross standing upright, undamaged & triumphant on top of a pile of smoking rubble with the High Alter in the background. Don't think that was by accident as they should've been destroyed, but were saved.

A word of encouragment can be found hidden within this tragedy that speaks of our current moment. What was preserved from these fires? The Eucharist, first and foremost, God is with us in this trial. The holy relics, the Holy Saints and the Deposit of Faith remain with us, untouched even if the fires lick them, and the famous rose window that inspired so many wise teachers of the Church, the Truth, Goodness and Beauty of God and Heaven, and all virtues remain unchanged. Christ is still the Head of His Church, and we are still His Mystical Body. Trust in Him.

Indeed!!! Will never forget that day, those images, the story of the heroic priest who ran into the fire to save the Tabernacle, Holy Relics, etc., the people gathered in unity praying the Rosary.
Also the photo of the aftermath with the Cross triumphantly standing upright & untouched by the fire on top of a pile of rubble, with the High Alter in the background also standing in triumph. That photo is so visibly powerful, don't think it was by accident either.
I 🙏 that this fortress of God gets rebuilt according to its original plan of completion, which included 2 more great spires. This is a great opportunity to commit to preserving the sacred tradition of the Church and strengthening the faith. Bless you as well!🕊

@Stan Henk Islamic doctrines are not compatible with Catholicism. If anything, protestantism has more in common with islam (ex. no images, no intercession of saints, they both believe in a book as being the only source of authority)

This fortress of God needs to be rebuilt according to its original plan of completion which included 2 more great spires. This is a great opportunity to commit to preserving heritage and sacred traditions of the church, the visible gift that was handed down from Christ to the Apostles & Saints!
So good that it didn't burn down and could be restored. The relics were intact either. The cathedral was a monument of human civilization.

I just couldn't believe that Notre Dame was really burning when the news broke. It was a harsh reminder of how spirituality bankrupt we've become. Was it an arson or an accident... it doesn't really matter. It was not just some building that was on fire, it was much more than that... a symbol of our faith, our tradition, our history and our identity.
It does matter, Jaka. Non-christians kept cheering on, we cannot forgive this.

Kyrie Eleison is the perfect chant for a space odyssey. Just imagine yourself floating in the complete sidereal void, watching the terrifying beauty of a black hole (obviously, not near from it, but at enough distance to appreciate it), with your eyes full of tears, with only one thought in your mind: "We are far from being big". Chilling!

I was horrified when I watched it happen live on the news. Only me and my Catholic trainer were upset. No one else understood why we were so upset by it. It's history, the human spirit, and the essence of God himself that burned down that day. It's like another peice of Europe was gone.
And now, almost one year ago, two more churches were put ablaze

Ne pleurons et prions plutôt pour les souffrants, les opprimés et les rejetés de la société. Certes, l'incendie est une chose extrêmement tragique à la quelle j'ai assisté avec autant de tristesse que vous, mais elle sera reconstruite, tôt ou tard, contrairement à notre pays et même au monde en général, qui lui a dû mal à se reconstruire.
