- The Farming Simulator series turns 10 today
Exactly 10 years ago, on the 14th of April 2008, the success story of the Farming Simulator series began. Right from the beginning, the first game of the series met the taste of the players and thus became a hit almost overnight. This marked a beginning for our still young company GIANTS Software and it was a first step on our road to success.
Only four people worked on the first game of the series and two of them, our CEO Christian Ammann and our CTO Stefan Geiger, two of the founders of GIANTS Software, would like to tell you about this path in a short video today.
We would like to thank all our players for their loyalty. Ten years of Farming Simulator would never have been possible without you all, because no game lives without its community. Our modders and players, our fans and streamers/youtubers, will always be part of the family of the Farming Simulator.
We have learned a lot in the last 10 years and improved the game piece by piece to offer you an ever evolving game experience and we are far from done!
This is to the next 10 years and we promise: We will not rest, we will continue to evolve and we will look into a bright and exciting future where our next game is about to show you how to farm like never before.

The first time I ever played Farming Simulator was in January 2009 and even then you could tell it was going to be really successful. It's come a long way in 10 years...I can't even imagine what the look back video will be like in another 10 years!

Firstly, Happy Birthday to Giants and their Farming Simulator franchise. I don't know where I spend most of my time, playing, modding, watching GE tut vids or just modding myself, but I can tell you that it's been one hell of a great journey watching the game grow to what it is, but more so, what it will become, looking forward to FS19, and remember...You don't have to be a farmer to be outstanding in you field..
You guys made the game I was dreaming of making in 1996 (i was a student of computer science in university) but never thought it would interest a lot of players. And now i'm playing it with my 2 sons ! You guys did and are doing a great job !! Keep up the good work !!

Playing 11-13-15 and 17 myself. Sometimes alone or with girlfriend. Even with some friends and colleagues :D I just love the realism and it kinda makes me feel to pay my respect for my grandparents who past away... I'm was born at 2004. Little after FS 2008 came out my dad was IN LOVE with it. He was playing it all the time. That's the only game he have ever played. Then he started teaching me how to play it. I loved it too. Then with the years I learned how to download games and I was downloading the new FS for him. We were playing them all the time until FS 2011. My laptop can't run anything after this game and sadly me and dad stopped playing it, but we still love the series and I'm happy to see your awesome new projects. Farming Simulator 2019 looks amazing!
Played since 2008. 2009 is one of my favourites,1000+ hours.Became a modder myself over the years,hope to continue with this series :)
I started playing with FS11 and since then it's been the franchise I've come to love and come back to every few months. These have been the games I've played the most hours according to steam by a long way. You guys did an awesome job and the community around it has it made even greater. Doesn't feel like 7 years since I started playing Farming Simulator. I wish you all the best and hope for many more years of digitally simulated agriculture to come. Thank you.

I remember watching videos of farming simulator 2009 somewhere in 2009-2010. I enjoyed watching those videos.
I cannot put into words how excited I am for Farming Simulator 19. I only joined the series with FS 2013, but I've been hooked ever since. You guys just keep doing what you're doing. It's great!
I started playing Farming Simulator with the 2011 copy on my Gateway PC, about 5 years ago. I do admit, they get way better with each game, and I love this series. Keep doing what you guys do best! (I own every single copy of FS, except for the very first.)

My first Farming Simulator was 2009 Gold edition, i got it when i was 7 years old, since then i had or have all of your Farming Simulator games and will buy the ones that are coming soon too. And i think one of the reasons why the game got so big was the extremely modding friendly game base. So thank you for all those great Farming Simulators and all those great new features
I honestly cannot tell you how much fun this game is. I was never really interested in farming before, and I live in the midwest of all places, my brother and I bought this game as kind of a gag gift for each other over Christmas and it has turned into one of my favorite games and really the focus of my channel. You , GIANTS Software, have made a game that is just plain fun for everyone and that is something special. Keep up the good work!

I still remember the first time i played Farming Simulator. It was at a lan, where one of the people there had a shall we say "not so legitimate" copy of FS2009 and 2008 that he passed around to the rest of us. Instantly got hooked because i'd always thought tractors and farming equipment was kinda cool ever since i was a kid. Then not long thereafter FS2011 hit steam and i bought a copy right away. Since then i've bought both 2011, 13, 15 and even some DLCs. Took a break from the series during FS17 but i'm looking forward to making a comeback when FS19 hits. It really is a great series :)
This is by far one of my favorite game series to play! Thank you for your hard work on an amazing game and I look forward for 10+ more years to come!

Ich bin nun seit dem LS 2008 dabei und hatte immer Spaß am spielen. Mit jedem LS-Teil vermehren sich die Spielstunden in immer größer werdenden Schritten.
Deshalb danke ich für die großartigen Spiele und für die Mühe, die ihr in die Spiele steckt !!!

When I was 6 I got farming simulator 2013 as a surprise. Over the years I got farming simulator 15, and 17. These were the greatest things that o have gotten probably to play in my time that I have spare. This is a great game series and I wonder where it will be in the future. This game will hold a place in my heart.
Since 2012 i see videos of Farming Simulator and I couldn't believe that I was going to be able to play one of the succefull versions of the game.
This game is just nostalgic bcuz when I've started seeing videos of farming simulator I was 7 years old now i'm almost with 14 and i want to thank you to all of the team of Giants Software to do this amazing game that it makes me almost cry just to see this game making 10 years!
I want to thank you also to the modders, the youtubers that make this game amazing

Ho i remember the good ol landwirtschafts simulator 2008. I was 13 and i dreamed about a farming game. And since, i never stoped playing these games, a gift from the gods haha thank you so much and good job for the success

FS11 was my first FS game, but 13 just blew me away with how much stuff changed. I have all Fs games from 11 to 17 on my hard drive and I like them all.
Wie hab ich mich gefreut, als mein Vater mir 2008 den ersten Teil vom Einkaufen mit nach Hause gebracht hat.
Ich weiß gar nicht, wie viele Stunden ich mit den ganzen Versionen verbracht hat.
Natürlich auch mal selber ein bisschen Modden ausprobiert (Da Talent liegt aber eindeutig bei anderen 😅), an Community-Treffen teilgenommen. Waren alles tolle Erfahrungen.
Da ich aus zeitlichen Gründen der 17er ausgelassen habe, freue ich mich umso mehr auf den neuen Teil. 😄

İ think İ play this game series since 2010 or 2009 and İ started with fs 2009. İn that time there was no game like fs 2009. İ thought this is an epic game. Now 2018 and İ say the same about fs17. You are unbelivable FS team. Good luck. We look forward for fs 19!

Farming simulator 2011 was my first game in my life since I bought a computer.And the nostalgia of those years since the newest farming came out, this is a lot of memories. that the worker moves strangely, does not take as it should, but still backs and does not take the whole line, it does not matter.It is really great game. (I write via google translator)
Thanks Giants software for the amount of work over the years, I can still remember when I played FS for the first time, I was so excited I kept on telling my dad what I did.
The game has not only just entertained me but has also help with my maths since I had a bad primary school teacher and having a disorder too,
I can't stop saying thank you for all your efforts I'll still playing FS for years to come

Ich bin stolz, das mein Schwager mir vor 9 Jahren auf seinem Geburtstag dieses einen Spiel gezeigt hat, das war der LS09. Es hat mir total viel Spaß gemacht, mit dem kleinen Lizard-Mähdrescher rumzufahren und zu ernten. Am nächsten Tag habe ich meine Mutter damit solange genervt, bis sie mir tatsächlich den LS08 gekauft hat. Es ist krass, einen vergleich zum jetzigen Spiel zu sehen, vorallem, wenn man sieht, wie der LS19 aussehen wird. 10 Jahre sind überhaupt keine kurze Zeit, und ich bin stolz, das ich jedes Spiel der Serie noch im Regal stehen habe. Ich bin mit dem Spiel groß geworden und freue mich auf die nächsten 10 Jahre damit!
Klasse Video, echt ne krasse Weiterentwicklung über die Jahre, weiter so!
Cattle and Corps ist auch ein mega gutes Spiel, welches auch große Konkurrenz ist, aber ich werde immer wieder auf den Landwirtschafts Simulator zurück kommen schon allein, weil man nie dieses geile Gefühl vergisst wo man zum ersten Mal das Spiel spielen konnte/durfte!

first time i discovered farming simulator was farming simulator 2013! i loved getting mods for the game and what not it was so fun. from there on i've gotten 2015 and 2017. to this day i still play farming simulator 2017 and im so excited for farming simulator 2018

Farming Simulator is already 10 years old ... I hope that you will add more Polish brands to FS19 and open cabin elements in tractors, combines, etc. and many other crops. Very much it would add variety to this game :) I wish you further successes :)
I only started playing Farming Simulator yesterday and I'm enjoying it on console. The thing I love about GIANTS Software is that they care about the community enough to allow mods in their games.
Yes, games like Call of Duty have mods on PC, but they're strictly for private lobbies.
Farming Simulator doesn't seem to stop you from progressing if you have mods installed.
Bethesda screw you over in the modding department because some of the mods make things easier.

Congratulations on 10 years. I love your game that you have made. Right now I have farming simulator 15 and 17 platium adtion that i play on my PS4. The other teo that I would like to get is farming simulator 13 and 11 for my PS3. When I first wanted to play the farming simulator game farming simulator 13 was out and that year for christmas I sat down in my room and stared writing my christmas letter, on that letter I wrote "This year christmas I want farming simulator 13 and a Macbook to play it". Than of coures I was young and did't pay attention to the prices and that year I didn't get those two. But I got something else from Santa but I can"t remamber what it was.

Thank you for your farming games created by giants software. Especially I like most is farming simulator 18 that is available in android and I learned how to cultivate,harvest and operate large equipments. My country Philippines have the rare number of tractors and harvesters. So I played farming simulator. if they have more tractors in the Philippines in the future, I know now how to operate those. Keep you good work and add more farming games especially for android devices. Thank you.

Dabei seit dem 2008er Teil.... damals auf meinem alten XP Rechner, das waren Zeiten.
Krass wie sich das Spiel bis heute entwickelt hat und auch irgendwie nen cooles Gefühl von den damaligen paar tausend Spieler zur 2008er Zeit bis zu den heutigen Millionen an Spieler dabei gewesen zu sein.

Ich bin mit dem LS 2008 angefangen, mit 7 Jahren heute bin Ich 17 und habe jedes Spiel und jedes DLC seit dem 2011 er auch immer die collectors Edition, das ist Grad meine komplette Kindheit und Jugend in einem Video.
Freue mich schon auf die 2019er Version!!

Thank you guys for this awesome games. I wanted to be a farmer, unfortunately my life followed another path, but at least I have farming simulator so I can have a bit of the feel of being a farmer.
