I absolutely love that the take away is that you found a deck for people with dexterity issues 😂 I am glad you compared all of these because I saw them on amazon and wasn’t sure if they were just scans of US Games cards or some other random knockoff!
They're definitely USG scans, but from one of the Swiss decks rather than the Belgian or Italian ones. But man, did they botch the resolution. Like, if you're going to copy, at least copy well!
Thanks for sharing these. I was seriously considering buying that dayglow flower one with the yellow borders because I liked the outrageous backs. Do you also have the Miriyan deck in the orange box with the snake lemniscate on the cover? (unfortunately, it doesn't use that design on the cardbacks, but the coloring is interesting, very tanned palette. It's also linen finish, and the images may be vectorized-not sure). See my channel to compare.
No, I didn't get the Miryan deck. When I saw your walkthrough, I thought the images looked very familiar, so I went to their website for a closer look. To me, the cards looked like direct scans of U.S. Games "The Original Rider Waite Tarot Deck." That's the deck that has the roses and lilies on the back, is based on the Pam B/C linework, and that's sold more commonly in Europe than in the U.S. The Miryan deck looks nearly identical to my vintage 1993 copy, just with a uniform "yellow" colorshift applied to all the cards. I think perhaps U.S. Games may have thought the same. When I made this video, Amazon had a listing up for Miryan's deck. That listing has now disappeared and it has also been pulled from Miryan's website. This may be corona virus related, or it may be a cease-and-desist from U.S. Games. Either way, I don't think I'll be supporting Miryan any time soon.
@@melissazupan6026 Ooh, so I now have a rare deck, even if it's a morally questionable one. I'd never seen another with quite the same coloring. I don't think folks should rip off copyrighted material, but I do wish USGames would issue decks in colors and qualities I enjoy without the ugly copyright stamps on them.
I have both of these decks, and carry them in my Boutique. There are a handful of other ones that are really bad. There is one with a figure 8 Oroborous on it is very much a direct copy of the Original Tarot by US Games. My copy of that other deck you showed does have the weird thing with the yellow throughout the deck, the linen on that deck is certainly something. LOL Honestly the newer editions look like a freshmen year art school project. They're pretty bad. There is even another version floating around under the name MagicSeer Classic Design Tarot Cards Deck which straight up has the same font as US Games is a blatent rip off. "DAMN SON - Those be some loud card backs" I just spat out my tea, I laugh so damn hard.
Yeah, when Toadstool Tarot showed off that deck with the lemniscate ouroboros, I was all "hang on a minute..." they're a straight up copy of the Original Rider Waite. I think that deck is sold as the Miriyan Tarot Deck, though the word Miriyan utterly fails to appear on any packaging. I'd also seen the MagicSeer deck and contemplated ordering it just to roast it. It's so bad! It looks like they took Belgian-era Yellow Box cards and did a horrendous scan. Everything looks ever MORE yellow than the original Belgian cards, and that's saying something. It also looks like they copied the Siren Imports packaging...ugh. I'm glad I could make you laugh! :)
Thanks for sharing this Melissa! Love your insights, the vectorization class was neat and the sound effect of the ring light was super funny ❣️

I *love* that you carry the Siren Imports decks in your Boutique. They're a solid RWS and definitely affordable!
