To the "Blessed Family" of the late Rev, Daniel Chai,I have been moved by your speeches/ advices which are full of "Pathos"!! I reside in Europe and got wind of the history of the: CMS founders from a european university library!!! Its very true that, when Dr. Krapf came to "Kauma land in 1862, he met the Kaya leaders to disuss the opeing of a mission and was told:" The country is yours"!! You can come and teach the people what ever you wish, we shall wellcome you! You may build houses and do whatever you like among us as what mr. "Rebman did at Rabai for the community!( Rebmann had taught a Mr. Mazera about the catecsim, and made him a teacher for the same) It is unbeliavable that you have kept the spirit of the late Rev. Chai alive 158 years after!! I bear wittness, God`s Love, blessings, Mercy rules that boma.I shall try to find the book and give you the names of the Kaya elders of that time.Regards from cold europe.I used to work with a Mr. Chai at Whitesands hotel and one at Bamburi Beach in the 80`s!
I dought if those guys carrying the "Folk sticks" know its meaning!!! Those sticks are carried by men of high position in the "Mijikenda Kayas" ( Gohu, Khambi and the Vayas who are the custodians of those temples!!) I dont now if they went through the first stage of being the "Nyeres"! This is "sacrilegiuous"Kindly treat this information as" devoid of purpose"if you went through thr prosses, watching from Europe, vinafaha, munahukumbukiza mudzini, ela zhaamgwa," Alume nyika, Alume ........., sino urembo uwo fwaukosa, fwahala kuku, umbole kazini, ukifika kisha ungire jikoni yee akelesi anadzihaka rangi ya kombeni, hedu analola kipindi cha kwakwe/tv!! Danke jungs! Auwiedersehen!!!
