  • Le Roy Froom may have been the greatest influence within the Seventh-day Adventist Church in moving it toward mainstream Evangelical doctrine and away from the foundation of the first fifty years of the denomination.
    Acts 20:28-30
28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

I went to Collegedale Academy in the 1970's the trinity was not taught. I never learned of the trinity until 25 years after I left the church and returned. And was ran out of the SDA church for teaching against the trinity.

Orchard Survivalist he brought in the trinity the Babylon doctrine of the Papacy ,look-See our page 1890 BRECKINRIDGE SUNDAY BILL AND THE TRINITY for more info on this.
So what law on the statute books is in 'direct connection' to the Sunday rest bill? The law that anyone who publicly denies the trinity will be persecuted. And we know that according to Rome, Sunday is directly connected to their trinity god ... "every Sunday is devoted to the honor of the Most Holy Trinity, that every Sunday is sanctified and consecrated to the triune God." (source).
Now attached to the Sunday law bill in Ohio, we find the following exemption ... "The proviso of the Sunday law exempts those only who conscientiously observe the seventh day of the week as the Sabbath." (Arguments on the Breckinridge Sunday Bill, [see source above]). So 7th day Sabbath keepers would be exempt. But those who deny the trinity would be punished! Do you see the deception of Rome? Is this going to factor into the coming Sunday law? We will see. But the fact shows that this is not just about the Sunday law, as the trinity god of Rome is closely connected to it.
So Seventh-day Adventists who "keep the Sabbath", yet worship the trinity are still following Rome! [By the way, you cannot truly keep the Sabbath if you worship a false god] Remember, you will be worshipping the beast by accepting the mark OR name, OR number of the beast.
Revelation 15:2-3 ...'And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God. And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.'
What do the saints get victory over? ALL the deceptions of Rome - over the mark, the image, it's name and number.

Hi Nick, and thank you so much for the time and effort you have spent in order to see these things. Many years ago, being a new convert, this '57 debate took a serious hold on me, and the interest in it still occupies my mind. To me, it seems as if you have been given a bright mind and being blessed with the ability to speak clearly and direct. Very good to be reminded again, this Sabbath evening, about the war that has been going on for decades in our denomination. I am sure you have a lot of notes on this subject. Is it possible to get a copy?

My Brother Walter Martin was a Mormon Himself who was generational. He comes from a family who were co-signer of the original Book of Mormon that Joseph Smith said he wrote from the gold plates that came from the Angel Moroni. By co-signing the Book of Mormon, you are agreeing that You had seen these Gold Plates. Plus, his brother-in-law was Donald Gray Barnhouse. Of Course, Walter Martin had come out of Mormonism by that time and became Evangelical. And he wanted to sell his Book on the Cults. So, I don't understand why no one of the SDA Conference did not research Walter Martin or his Brother In-law Donald Barnhouse background at that time. I would have had a field of Dreams Checking those two out and would have presented the information to the Church leadership. Walter Martin and Donald Barnhouse would have gone no further with their claims of cultism from the SDA's.

Vehicles of influence were book The Coming Comforter for laymen and Ministry Magazine to shape pastors.
    Six principles of Froom
    1. Not all details must be retained (1925)
    2. Search for books written by men outside our faith (1926-1928)
    3. Press on past the old paths; do not walk in them. (1926-1938)
    4. Shape up the books and writings or “change the books” of the pioneers and inspired writings. (1928)
    5. Wait until the opposition dies (1930)
    6. Remove vestiges of truth endorsed by God; manipulate inspired writings to conform to false doctrines (1930)
You said that Froom claimed to learn from sister White that he was to shape up the books. He claimed he got this third hand from William White.
Tell me in the conversations between Froom and Walter Martin did he promise the Baptist that he would change the books? I remember an article online that had a recording of someone’s testimony on the matter.

Correction at the fifteen minutes mark. The belief of Armageddon as a spiritual battle did not start with Walter Reed. It started with the founders. The founders are the first generation of pioneers who experienced the preaching of the first and second angel’s messages. They were founders because you must have a foundation of teaching before you have pillars. Pillars must rest on the foundation. Hiram Edson
    Joseph Bates
    James White
    Ellen White
    William Farnsworth
    J. N. Andrews
    Otis Nichols
    David Arnold
They were the founders because they were some of the fifty in Sabbath conferences and publications like Advent Review and Present Truth who were Millerites that continued in the teachings of William Miller. See what James White said in the book, Sketches of the Christian Life and Public Labors of William Miller: GATHERED FROM HIS MEMOIR BY THE LATE SYLVESTER BLISS, AND FROM OTHER SOURCES. In it there are four points to note.
“1. Mr. Miller was correct in his views of the premillennial second appearing of Christ…
    2. Mr. Miller was correct in his application of the prophetic symbols of Daniel and John…
    3. He was also correct in his exposition and application of the prophetic periods. The dates fixed upon have stood the test of the most rigid criticism. And those Adventists who have changed to other dates have done so simply because of the passing by of the first periods of expectation.
    4. But Mr. Miller was mistaken in the event to occur at the close of the prophetic periods, hence his disappointment…” p.7
They are the ones who formed the pillars. There would be no pillars if the fifty according to Joseph Bates did not believe God was in the Millerite movement. There would be no principles of beliefs if people did not accept the first three tenets of Miller’s teachings. There would be no pillars.
The Adventist people profess they believe in the pillars: 1. the sanctuary that contains 2. the law of God, 3. the faith of Jesus that kept his Father’s Ten Commandments, 4. especially the seventh day sabbath. 5. It is written in the spirit of Proverbs 29:18 that the “ancient people” are happy who keep the law of God because they receive the encouragement and guidance from the “prophetic vision or revelation” of Jesus Christ. This is the people who are restrained by the testimony of Jesus which is the gift of prophecy. 6. The ultimate destiny of man is death which our Lord took for every man, 7. so that the ultimate destiny of man is the second advent of Christ to resurrect the righteous. 8. The three messages of each of the respective angels is to make every soul in this generation fit for translation. That is all fine to have such pillars.
Hiram Edson discovered the true biblical meaning of the sanctuary message. Joseph Bates and Andrews discovered the sabbath and seal of God.
They believed in a spiritual Armageddon. The people who came after the founders did not form the pillars although for ease of language we call them pioneers: John Byington, Stephen Pierce, Rosewell Cottrell, J. H. Waggoner, J. N. Loughborough and Uriah Smith joined the early SDA people in 1852. George Amadon and Stephen Haskell joined in 1853. G. I. Butler joined them in 1856. Even Rachel Preston Oaks who had introduced the sabbath did not join until as late as 1867 the year before she died. They all joined after the work of foundation of the Millerite message and the layout of the pillars on top of the foundation was settled.
See Donald E. Mansell’s book Adventists and Armageddon and his articles What Adventists Taught on Armageddon in the Ministry Magazine of November and December issues of 1967.
The timeline of Adventist beliefs about Armageddon and Daniel 11:40-45 flow in the following way. The founders believed settled in 1845-1846 on the view that Armageddon will be a spiritual battle. Uriah Smith new to the faith accepted and continued in this view until 1857. Then the view evolved that Armageddon will be a jihad military battle. By 1881 Armageddon became a mere physical battle in the Middle East.
On the subject of Daniel 11:40-45, the founders believed the king of the north would be the papacy. By 1867, the church believed that Turkey is the last power.
Seventh-day Adventist Church organization got itself so much in trouble about predicting Turkey and later the Ottoman Empire would fulfill prophecy the church came up with the Bible Research Institute to counter this error. (That is in the footnotes of the paperback. It is not in the electronic copy.)

An Evangelical is one who gives the euangelion (the joyous tidings or gospel). You're not committed to the great commission? Or is it a message of works righteousness. In that you are for sure not Evangelical. That is what has been killing Adventism and robbing it of its message.
