If you can get the vintage at a decent price it would be worth it, but if it is extremely expensive I would pass and buy the modern formulation.

Got a bottle of this as a gift but the atomiser sucks and sprays out like a jet stream. Disappointing.

I am sorry to hear that. You can purchase small atomizers and spray from the bottle into the atomizer and use that.
