Haters will always hate. Now they have given Coco a reason to play even better and Coco is still very young. I believe she is still adding to her Tennis arsenal.
The #1 rank will come naturally because she will beat all the highest ranked players at some point and walk in as the world's best player which she already is.

Coco is still getting over the pusher mentality of a defensive player. She needs to learn to change directions after a few rally and hit winners. That hasn't become muscle memory yet. That is why Zheng played better as she was hitting winners every chance she gets. Also her shot selection is better because she uses that skill more than Coco. As soon as Coco elevates her serve and her forehand gets even better her game will get cleaner and she'll start capitalizing on all those break points she gets. Fun times ahead. I hope her team reviews this match for training.

Coco shut the mouth of the critics. I was sad she lost the US Open, but also glad. Coco didn't get down on herself. Coco seemed to have mentally done what real champions do. Coco fired Brad Gilbert, stopped playing for fans, and took all the negative criticism and turned inward to mental toughness. This was a match that Coco should have lost because today she wasn't the better technical player. However, Coco wasn't accepting a loss, and for once I saw the "killer instinct" that champions are made of in Coco. I saw Coco happy enjoying playing tennis. The tennis world is stupid. I have been a fan of tennis for a very long time, and a player as well. For anyone to think that a top 10 player is down and out because of some shacky results just does not understand our sport at all. Also, I don't think that people get that most players will not win multiple slams or a slam at all. The sport simply does not work this way. You have elite top players ending their career with 3 slams or less and that is considered a phenomenal career. Coco is 20 years old. A slam winner. She has made multiple semifinals at majors. She has already had a great career. And she will continue to have a great career, she will not win all the time, no one does. I think you do a great job covering out sport for sure, I am not including you in my analysis. At the same time, this current wave from the tennis world to panic anytime a player is not dominating all the time is telling of how much so many new fans don't understand about our sport.

We do have to consider that Gauff played 3 days back-to-back, where Zheng had 1 day of rest. I said before they played that I expected Gauff to be tired, win, but tired. Indeed, she stated she was tired in the press conference. If she had 1 day of rest, I expect her energy would have given her an extra boost in play quality towards winning. ALSO, Zheng played Barbora prior to the final where Gauff played and beat SABALENKA! So, Gauff was clearly the MVP of the tournament, in my opinion; if this even needs to be said. I don't believe Zheng would have troubled her as much with a day of rest and an easier opponent prior to the final; Zheng had that advantage...

Coco is only 20, when she improves her forehand wing and the consistency of her serve she will be unbeatable when she is on. She moves better than everyone on the tour. Her instincts and first step forward and side to side can not be taught. Her serve is powerful when it's on. Her backhand is elite. And finally, her mental toughness is next level. I see more slams in her future, great and less one-sided rivalries with Swiatek and Sabalenka. Looking forward to burgeoning rivalries with Zheng (already a great all-around player), Navarro and I see Mira becoming an elite player as well. Tennis is in good hands.

Coco was the director of this championship. She was very strategic from the beginning. She went all out to win her first two matches. Ease up on the throttle in the third match possibly to save energy going into the semifinal and ensuring that the dangerous Swiatek was out. She also ensured that she would meet Sabalenka who, from form, she would stand a better chance reaching the finals and the playing Zheng who it was expected to reached the final also. Then Coco let it all out in that final. She played her best game this season. She displayed with grit, strength, guile and fitness. Zheng literally ran out of gas and spirit. Coco broke that Chinese “filly” towards the end. A very strategic tournament from Coco and her team. Congratulations.

Great analysis as usual. What's your full name and what is your tennis background? You came out of nowhere. At first I thought you were boring and mundane. Now you have become compelling. I can't believe I found myself looking for your content after this match. Did you play elite level tennis, inquiring minds want to know?

Okay Christian Basnight, gotcha. All I see so far is you started playing at around 10, and at least one year, you made it to the semi-finals in your state of Virginia. I also saw the news dossier they did on you when you were in high school. It appears you played division 3 tennis and did well. Don't know if you played the whole 4 years or not. You knew what you wanted to do from jump and that is; to be a tennis analyst an commentator by majoring in business and journalism. You played enough to understand the game. What you accomplished in tennis, is more than most of us on this site probably did or doing. Keep grinding man. Who knows we might look up and see you on ESPN or the Tennis channel one day. Even if you don't; you are building enough subscribers, followers and admirers to be your own entity...

This was by far the best review I have seen so far.
The arena was so dark I couldn't see the attendance for most of the matches.
Coco knows that you don't have to play your best tennis to win matches, and it will serve her well in the future.
QWZ surprised me how well she hung in the long rallies and was at par in winning those points.
Coco didn't serve as great as in the Aryna match, but neither did QWZ . QWZ only had 4 aces the entire match and all 4 came in the 3rd set.
Coco average serve speed seemed to have decreased by about 25km in this tournament- is it a tradeoff for accuacy?

Coco hasn’t played great tennis this fall, but crucially, she has competed stratospherically in that time and we have seen the results.
When she’ll play great tennis and up her competitiveness as well, she will be a BEAST to take on 💪🏿💜.

In the previous final w/ Sabi, the commentators kept bringing up 'Aryna wasn't on her game today', 'she's letting herself get too flustered'. They couldn't possibly fathom that Coco's big play, running down literally every shot had any effect on her opponent.

Christian court should be changed to Iga and Sabalenka court, because every time you make a say the other played bad and that helped Coco. Some how you and some other Coco was recently the #2 player in the WTA. Give her real credit, w/o some others helped her bruh

I couldn't agree more with the commentary; Coco took a huge step forward in her career by taking this tournament. This might be even more important than her 2023 USO title. She set herself up for success in the next season and solidified her place at the top of a very competitive field. WTA never looked better to me as it does right now with so much talent it's crazy. Coco played like a warrior, congratulations!!!

Bro playing 3hrs of tennis on your legs is crazy. It’s one of the longest match in history. Also coco is not fully mature as professional player yet. She’s still young and budding. Not because Serena and Venus were ahead of their time, means Coco should be too. Zheng serves were stellar , she bodied coco for most of this match. Coco was just a quick thinker and a really good problem solver.

  • @marcusgraham5084

Brad and the other coaches before him, gave Coco these complicated game plans that continued to neutralize her superior problem solving capabilities and her athletism; whilst long-term, her serve(which was never really being resolved) continued to fail her. This kind of situation always benefited the opposition; especially players like Iga, Sabalenka and/or Barbora.
Now with Tim Daly, you can clearly see the shift that has begun to take place. He is definitely helping Coco to develop her serve with her forehand, alongside grip technique; whilst giving a very simple game plan of allowing her to go out there and problem solve and use her athletism. Trust me, when Coco is playing to her true self; it will continue to be a struggle and a nightmare for all of the WTA field.
Even when Coco isn't playing her best tennis and her serve may not click some intervals, her mental toughness alongside her superior athletism and problem solving will continuously take all WTA players into deep waters. Players like Swiatek, Sabalenka, Bardosa, Quinwen and others will now see how dangerous this version of Coco will continue to be as her game evolve. This WTA tournament victory was just the calm before the storm.
Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and US OPEN; and the 500s, 1000 and Masters. 2025 and beyond. RUN🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. That also applies to LA28 as well.
    COCO GAUFF 2.0 IS COMING🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
