nah all you need is stretching stretching until all you muscle are back on the full range of motion. that is the time you do some light exercise. coz if you exercise without bringing back your muscle to it's full range of motion it will just tighten more and will make you feel sick. so I suggest you don't rush this thing out. go stretching for 2 to 3 months.. every single muscle in your neck and shoulder. (also go search for thoracic outlet syndrome.) also if you have high cholesterol you should not exercise too until your cholesterol level goes normal. go take statin prescribe by your doctor. usually it takes 6months before your cholesterol goes back to normal. on that 6months you can only do light stretching.. do not do some very hard stretching coz it will just make you feel sick to and it will keep going back to it bad range of motion coz your cholesterol is the shit that making your recovery slow. been there, and it took me 2 yrs to fix my problem. at first I went to a doctor, then a physical therapist, then to a chiropractor.. until I have enough (coz it is taking me 8 months already and nothing got fix permanently) and so do my own research. and took me another 16months till I'm back to normal. just a note, that you need to warm up first before stretching or exercising if you exercise you need to stretch after you are done.
