I wanna take a moment to thank Bobby Brown for expanding my lexicon at the age of 6 and teaching me the meaning of the word “perogative”. I talked back to my mother and told her “it’s my perogative”, it didn’t end well...
@@AtilonWoW It's *supposed* to be pronounced how it's spelt. People just, in general, don't pronounce it correctly. It's not a massive problem, but it does then translate to people not knowing how to spell it correctly as well.
This song got my ass beat! I told my mother "I'll do my homework when I felt like because it was 'My 'prerogative. "Every time I hear this, I think about that beat down.... I'm 32 now
There is something like prerogative but also something called duty. It is every child's duty to go to school and participate in its education, and it is a parents duty to watch over their child and guide them otherwise a parent will have to face the bad end of the government as well. So yeah, instead of a beating maybe educating a child on the difference between when you are allowed to utilize your prerogative and when you have to bow for duty. I guess your mother just thought the beating was quicker albeit less child friendly. lol
@@LogiForce86 Also, we don't know the tone used or the amount of volume used by the poster of the comment. If the comment was excessively belligerent, an ass-beating seems appropriate to me. I mean not to the extent of internal or external injuries but enough to make the point.
I love the fact that Michael Jackson was a little bit obsessed with this song. His bodyguards wrote it in their book about him and it was so interesting, to read what a adorable person he was. I mean he heard this song like thousand times just to sing it by himself. I love this beautiful angel. ✨
Just the thought of Michael Jackson loving this song makes you wonder why he was tired of his life they wouldn’t let him make his own decisions so sad Rest In Peace king of pop 😇😇😇😇
This is a wonderful song to listen to, especially when you're single. You think for yourself and live for yourself and that's the way it should be and it also teaches you about self growth. You have your own point of view, if people don't understand you, and criticize you because you're different, who cares what they think. Be yourself, and you'll become more of a wonderful individual. 😎
i was in a relationship with an ex and she abused the hell out of me and she pushed me around was telling me what to do how to act how to talk how to walk was telling me who i could and who i could not talk to or be friends with it is great being single cause you can do whatever you want and you dont have to listen to nobody and nobody bullying the hell out of you ^_^
The lyrics may apply to others also, but this is all Bobby Brown. Great album. It stands on its own without reference or as a derivative of MJ. It was creatively and musically unique to other popular music of the late '80s.
I am here because of Michael Jackson's book: "Remember The Time" written by his body guards. They said that Michael used to ask them to play this song in the car.
This song really touched my heart the first time i heard it. This is just how I feel about these people who know that they are in a bad situation so they try to bring others down to make themselves feel better.
@@shanicephillips9170 um... no YOUR wrong. Go back and watch the footage of his funeral. Brooke Shields says: “His favorite song wasn’t any of the masterpieces that he gave us. It was ‘smile’” and then his brother Jermaine came out and sang it. I also heard Michael say it himself in an interview so...nice try.
I have also recorded your this song in my USB of hits of music from 1970-1990 and now Iam enjoying it and relaxed because of this golden musical era. Thanks
Probably my favorite song! It's exactly how I feel! I take care of myself all alone but everybody wants to talk shit about me and try to tell me what I need to do! Everyone needs to make sure their side of the street is nice and tidy before they even think about trying to sweep my side of the street! Stay in your own lane is the moral of the story!

I'm only here because of Michael Jackson, yes i know he didn't sing it. But it was used in the Movie 'Searching for Neverland' which starred Navi, and it suits Mj very well ☺️
@3:11 the correct lyric is "Yo Teddy" *not* "yo tell it" as shown in this vid. If you'd ever seen a live performance (or watched one) that would be very clear.

yup that was the scene where his friend was playing him and he was in the pool area with his kids and he thought that the camera were working and he thought they were watching him and he felt like like they were attacking him and he said that he would never hurt a child that was a sad scene ^_^
Michael Jackson liked this song and that's why I'm listening to it...I can say he had good taste but I think he liked it cause it really passes his situation at the time #10yearsRIPMICHAELJACKSON #MUSIC#ICON
