    I tried this recipe out and it turned out AMAZING! Loved her trick of steaming the clams open separately to ensure zero sand in the pasta. I will definitely be making this again and again! Thank you, Laura!

    Thank you for this great recipe. When I made this dish, after I dished it into the bowls, I squeezed some fresh lemon and sprinkled parmesan over it. I won't order this out anymore. Had too many bad experiences w/ gritty sand and poor seasoning. Thanks for letting me enjoy this dish again. Your video is great at explaining the hows and whys on doing things.

    Hey Girl, thanks for sharing this recipe. I made this last night (with a couple of twists) and it came out perfect! Your trick to prepping the clams was key, if I didn’t see this I would have been waiting forever for the clams to release the sand. Thanks for sharing 👍

    Making this soon but we usually add the butter in with the liquids before adding in the clams. Than we toss it to make sure it all marries together with the flavors before covering. Looks good.

    I've made this dish many times, and it's great. The only thing I do different is no coffee filter, and when the sauce comes together, I add a very little bit of cornstarch slurry to thicken slightly. It makes every bite more favorable, since more of the sauce sticks to your noodles.

    awesome recipe!! this is so much a fave of mine that even if I order a different meal in one of my favorite Italian restaurants, I ask for a small side of "spaghetti alla Vongole" at all times. I know ..... even my friends think Im sick. BUT, I followed this recipe to a tee the other night for a group of 5 ( made too little but thats OK), and now they think Im a gourmet cook...laughter.. Thanks for this!

    • @opkgoogle7812
      @opkgoogle7812 5 лет назад

      The alcohol evaporates away from the wine as soon as you bring it to a boil and reduce...leaving behind basically just grape juices. Don't worry there is no alcohol in the finished sauce.

      Here in Taiwan we use a method to make the clams spit out their sands. First prepare a bowl of water and add one or two tea spoon of salt into it(Like 15 gram per liter water), mix it well then soak your fresh clams into the salt water and wait for about halt to one hour, the clams should spit out their sands through the magic of time if they are still alive. Try this and never lose the beautiful clam juice again!!

    • @lawrencewei3583
      @lawrencewei3583 6 лет назад

      But you get the flavour while incorporating the water

    • @mackieguzmanRN
      @mackieguzmanRN 6 лет назад

      Let the clams soak in clean water and leave it overnight, it will spit out all the sand. This work especially if the clams are still alive.

    The recipe is pretty accurate. One thing though. There is no need to boil the clams to get rid of the sand. I am Italian and I have never seen or heard of anybody boiling the clams first. Soak the clams in cold salty water for an hour or two. Then cook raw clams in the sauce, covering pot, and the clams will open when ready leaving all their juices in sauce. Discard any clams that do not open. If they remain closed there is a good chance they were dead and therefore not good to eat.
