I worked for the BRC for a number of years while both Gwyndaf and Elfyn were competing, and yes he's such a nice bloke. He's a competitor though and the intensity does come out behind the wheel. He had an off on a stage and was clearly unhappy coming into service, I opened the door and questioned him about the damage. He bit my head off. Understandable, heat of the battle an all that. After the rally he came to find me to apologise, there was no need but just showed what a nice man he is.
Gwyndaf is like a mild mannered Clark Kent in everyday life, a true gent, but put him behind the wheel of his rally cars and he was quite like the hulk lol great driver. 👍👍👍👍👍🏁
His speech was slow and measured as he was devoting 97% of CPU cycles to working out how to re-engineer the camera to make it faster and smoother. What a gent.
He seems so nice! I'm a big fan of his son, hoping he wins the title this year, it would be well deserved! Just one question. How does one balance being a school bus driver (ok, I guess the shift isn't too long there), a mechanic running his own garage, a rally driver and a family man?
Here from Smith and Sniff :)
Absolute lad. Gwyndaf was always my favourite driver of his era.
I don’t know him personally. But it’s hard to say anything other than Gwyndaf is probably the nicest person alive.

I remember him as a kid watching rallies on tv : always seemed a really nice bloke when interviewed.
Nice one, and neat timing as son Elfyn is about to start his first event leading the WRC. Competitive dad? no, proud father, yes.

You couldn't have a better man to get your bus sideways on snow.

Surprising he didn't have a co-driver in that bus.
Howard Davies was late for school
he's so soft spoken
Met Gwyndaf at the mcrae rally challenge 2022 where he was competing in his new RS1800
That dodgy metro turned into a MK2 rs 2 faaaasaaand sharpish
P.S some nifty double de clutching at the beginning!
i wonder how often the school children told him to go faster after they found out their school bus driver was a rally driver
i bet howard was some krak in that car!!!
