I'm confused by the comments... I LOVE Suede, and always have done, but Brett's voice is just awful and has been for the last 25 or so years when performing live. It doesn't affect their sound as they obviously clean it up in post production when recording so it sounds like it did when he started out, but live? It's terrible, shallow, out of tune, and sounds like he's constantly struggling for air. I think the guy's brilliant, and as a songwriter and melodist he's superb, but there ain't no fixing that voice! Does nobody else see this?
Well he does sing in a high register that can be a big strain on your vocal chords, especially when touring.... (but he makes up for it in pure energetic performance that would leave someone like Madonna out of breath :) - Thankfully they often start their tours in Scandinavia where I am, I was fearing for those high notes, but this performance had me in tears : ruclips.net/video/1Zkc-qy-yCU/видео.html
