I love the mix and match of the various figure producing companies to fill out the team. Many like to keep ML with other ML figures or Mafex w/ Mafex, but filling out teams with your preferred version of the character is what collecting is all about. Not to mention, it personalizes the collection.
You hit the nail on the head. It's about personalizing the collection. I don't really care much about canon, really just about my favorite looks for characters and having them on display in a visually pleasing way.
