I love Scott Barnes and Kevin Aucoin! Makeup artist Way Bandy predates both artist and inspired Kevin. Neither Scott nor Kevin claimed to be the originators of this technique. As a make-up artist myself since the early eighties, this was always the proper way to apply your base. That Instagram technique which originated with drag was never meant for people to use as their daily routines. It's so refreshing to see people turning back to more flattering techniques! 🥰
honestly you're the only RUclipsr that creates makeup content-related videos that I still watch and enjoy. Thank you for keeping everything simple and overall short to the point
@@SagoniaLazarof I actually didn't know until I saw it on Tati's channel and I remembered that a good while ago, Scott Barnes did her makeup and used this technique. Looks great on you... :)
Just because someone brought it to light doesn’t mean they should have all the credit for it. Scott Barnes did before her and people had already been doing that way before Scott barns.
Love! I always thought elf hydrating camo concealer was too heavy and cakey for my heavily textured/acne-marked skin, but I need to try your tip of warming it up on the back of my hand. Also, I love your nail polish in this video!
I'm definitely going to try this again (I tried previously) with a fuller coverage foundation. The brush really diffuses the foundation, and when I used a skin tint it basically just absorbed it all haha
I feel that this is for people that have perfect skin. Imagine doing this with a full coverage foundation? Scott does it better I think. It’s called underpainting
OK friends, so I saw TATI have a video under Scott Barnes channel talking about Mery Phillips, needing to give him his praise for this technique. So I put her name and RUclips and came across this video. I agree with all the comments down below. Scott Barnes has been doing this forever. It’s really sad to see that people take from others without giving them credit. I don’t know who Mary Phillips is, but I would say, if she hasn’t gotten a chance to apologize to Scott Barnes, she needs to.
This technique just doesn’t make sense to me. Foundation provides an even base so that the contour is blended more easily. Looks beautiful nevertheless and u look gorgeous 🥰
@@SagoniaLazarof congratulations! You look stunning. Just curious did you the Keto diet with or IM? I'm currently trying to lose 20 lbs but No luck yet
I feel like the contour completely disappears under the foundation….unless u use a super light coverage BB cream or foundation and a dark contour color under it…
I'm so confused why people are acting like this is new. Scott Barnes, Makeup by Mario & Kevin Aucoin have been doing this forever! Plus, we've even seen this method be done on JLo, Tati Westbrook, & so many more...
I love that and will try it today. But what I am so surprised is that you are using that elf concealer. It messes up my make-up every time I use it. It makes my skin looking caky and it is not hydrating at all.
My sensitive skin doesn’t do well with any types of foundations (I’ve tried TONS - high and low end- and they all break me out) Do you think this technique would still work if using a tinted SPF as the “foundation” instead ? That is all I use these days
Give drag queens, trans women, and female performers their flowers, they've been doing this for 60+ years.. Where do you think makeup artists i.e. Kevyn Aucoin, Scott Barnes, etc. got it from? Makeup techniques that have become “trends” predate all modern makeup artistry. The techniques aren't new, they’re cyclical or esoteric at best. As Sagonia alluded, nobody you see today "created" any of this, they're only sharing what’s been established by others, and almost everyone who claims otherwise is lying. History is important y'all, and respect needs to be paid to those who paved the way.
Honestly your skin is georgous naturally and adding all that crap just dulled it. Plus your forhead is short already adding bronzer just made it worse... Point is don't fix what's not broken.
Give Scott Barnes his flowers! He's been doing this on Jlo for over 20 years
Right literally the under paint king 👑
Yup credit is to him
love Scott Barnes but I think Kevyn Aucoin created this method (if I’m not mistaken)
Sooooooo 🤝 it's annoying when what we did originally was call wrong 😑 just what gives you the best results!!

thank you for this comment. it means so much to me ❤❤❤
Same. Others just have too much fluff for me. I usually click off after a few minutes. Also her natural skin is inspiring.
Yeeees. I hate 20 min makeup videos
She is feeding us with so much content lately 😍 blesseddd
❤️❤️❤️
Just discovered your page! Love how short and aesthetically pleasing your videos are. Wishing you success this year on the channel!
thank you so much, this means a lot!
Wow. Very few people look equally magnificent with and without makeup. You’re 💣 really.
Scott Barnes actually perfected this technique.....
I did say it has been around for years and she has brought it to light 🤍
@@SagoniaLazarof I actually didn't know until I saw it on Tati's channel and I remembered that a good while ago, Scott Barnes did her makeup and used this technique. Looks great on you... :)
Totally agree I watched him long time ago applying it on Tati
@sagonialazarof where the fluffy fondation brush come from?
Just because someone brought it to light doesn’t mean they should have all the credit for it. Scott Barnes did before her and people had already been doing that way before Scott barns.

You’re gorgeous just without any make up ... and you do a super job of it ❤
Your videos are super helpful and informative. Also, can you upload your AM routine please. ❤
I'm definitely going to try this again (I tried previously) with a fuller coverage foundation. The brush really diffuses the foundation, and when I used a skin tint it basically just absorbed it all haha

Hourglass brush $65 US.

I really liked it

Your skin is sooooo nice and clean. Wondering if you ever suffered from texture , acne or large pores?
omg yes soooo much texture. please go watch my recent skincare videos!
@@SagoniaLazarof I did!!! Thanks ❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful 🤩
Pretty shade of lipstick at the end, wonder what it is?
Beautiful with and without makeup! What brand makeup brushes do you use? Those look great.
Also give Nina ubhi her flowers 💐 she's been doing for years.
Love your videos! Your face looks so much slimmer. Did you do something cosmetic or natural to get it to look all nice and snatched? Please share!
i’ve lost 20 pounds over the past 4 months 🤍

can you talk about your new nose job? where did you get it done?
What hydrating serum are u using?
Love ur video! Which concealer shade are u using? Because I wanna order it ❤️
What’s your skincare routine before applying makeup??
are you still wearing lash extensions? I love the dark lined look but no liner. If that's a makeup trick please share lol
Will the Charlotte Tilbury contour wand work for this technique?
What shade is the foundation xx
Yes, i too would like to know. I tried her link but takes me to Sephora.

thank you so much! this time I did clear polish with magic white chrome. so pretty it looks like glass!
Wow wow woooow
M enjoyed 😉 👌 your videos,,make a video flushed makeup look with cream liquid products. Lots of love from Pakistan 🇵🇰 ❤️
I'm early!!! You look absolutely flawlesss
Uhm, Kevyn Aucoin, Danessa Myricks and Scott Barnes have been doing this for decades.
What is your skin care
This is weird but the way you open up your videos and carry the dialogue as a conversation… you’d be a great public speaker!
I love that and will try it today. But what I am so surprised is that you are using that elf concealer. It messes up my make-up every time I use it. It makes my skin looking caky and it is not hydrating at all.
Next time do it with the blush underneath so we can see the difference
okay ill try that in my next video!
@@SagoniaLazarof your skin looks amazing

I love the techniques but it’s wayyyyy tooo much product necessary.
this is originally scott barnes technique this is annoying af give the man some credit
Bro- it’s not Mary Philips technique. Atleast get your facts right.
This was a disaster. You used soooo much foundation. You made everything disappear
Mary Phillips did not bring it to life! Do your research before you praise her. You sound very ignorant
What brush did you use for applying the foundation?🫶🏼
Hourglass
Beautiful 💕💕
