Gonna get the accessories in first 💪🏻 I was in between paper planning and digital planning…… Never owned an iPad but I’m looking forward to use the mini for notes, meeting purpose, planning, reading books / comics & simple video editing on the go. Quick check, do you use a normal screen protector? Or paperlike to give it a more of a paper grip?
Just bought your 2023 planner. Debating iPad mini, vs iPad Air, vs a surface go 3. Primarily for planning and media consumption (I have a laptop). Thoughts?
Personally I would suggest the air or surface go. If you are an apple user you will like the iPad better. The iPad is going to have a more mobile experience, specially due to the fact the App Store is much more developed than Windows.
Great video. My question as a business owner is how do you note take the daily tasks. For me, I’d rather put daily tasks in something like Asana so my small team of 7 can see the work they need to complete. Do you really use iPad journaling for mission, vision planning and personal growth only?
Derek - I use onenote for all of that. And use I do all of my planning on the iPad. I will use my laptop for heavy work load or when I need to type out thoughts and ideas. You can easily set up sections of the planner that can be shared. have you experienced any display pressure distortion when taking notes with our Apple Pencil 2? I had to return mine because of that issue. it was so annoying and distracting that I just couldnt.... it was only happening at the top right side of the screen.
For a daily note taking person like Branden, I don't think a physical notebook is an effective way. Physical notebooks require space for storage and proper maintaining to keep use for a long period of time. And yes, physical notebooks do not grant you the possibility of sharing across platforms. And you can't even extract/search for a specific note you recall when you're on the go, as it stays in one of those physical notebook you leave at home.
Btw, a very thorough video on how to take note on an iPad Mini, Branden. I think I have made up my mind, I will purchase one with an Apple Pencil 2. You have my sub :)
If you lose a physical notebook, your notes are lost forever. Digital notes are backed up in the cloud and never lost. You can sync them across multiple devices and search them anywhere which is huge if you’re taking notes for work or studying.

No you are not able to create any templates for apple notes.

You are just making your life complicated. Just get a notebook and a pen, that’s simple.
