    Wonderful car. The body's swoops, bends, and creases must have been a nightmare for the autobody repair shops. I would imagine there were a lot of places for rust to develop as well. Buick had a lot of great cars through the years, with great model names, such as Invicta, Wildcat, LeSabre, Electra, Riviera. The 1950's and '60's were awesome decades for American cars.

    The 59 & 60 Invictas were very cool looking iconic. As far as styling, I liked the angled headlights & the more aggressive looking grill on the 59 better!!! Aside from styling they were both great durable cars. In fact,they did a 10,000 Mile in 5000 minutes endurance test on a 60 Invicta with only driver & tire changes. They refueled while driving on the Daytona Speedway track going an average speed of 120 MPH . It was pretty awesome,but getting back to your Invicta,you have the engine upgrade & it seems like you have the mechanicals in order so now do the car some real justice with some high quality body & paint work & some high quality reupholstering!!!

    Hard to believe one of the wildest looking cars you could buy in 1959 and 1960 was a Buick. For my generation(Im 37), a Buick was about the most stodgy/boring thing you could buy, except maybe for the 80's Regal/Grand National. We have no memories of the cool Buicks like the 60's/70's Riveria or this googie masterpiece

    Toned down the 1960 from the 1959? You are very mistaken, just look at the sides of the 1959 Buick and how smooth they were and all the sculpting on the 1960. The 1960 had much more added styling compared to the 1959s more restrained appearance. I own a 1960 LeSabre and it is a great car.

    • @timonsolus
      @timonsolus 3 года назад +3

      Why is it insulting to you?
      To me, 'yacht' means luxury and comfort. Which this car has. But if your idea of a cool boat is a roaring speedboat, and not a sedate cruise in a yacht, I guess you might see 'yacht' as meaning 'big and slow' and therefore 'crap'.

      Yachts are expensive, not everyone can own a yacht. Same with this beauty, I bet she’s expensive too and not too many people can afford a car like this. So being called a land yacht is quite fitting for this beauty. And with the motor she has, it would not surprise me that she’s capable of being a racing land yacht. 😉
