this arc was only 10 chapters in the manga, so it will be very short, but has some very important training and lore leading up to the next arc
It's gotta have a lot of Anime original content to make it 8 Episodes long, which we know is at least since each week's Taisho secret will be about a Hashira.

Hashira training arc is not about the hashira training, it’s about training the pupils to become Hashira and make the demon slayer core stronger
Or more accurately it’s training WITH the Hashira

You didn't get the joke when tanjiro said 'that was close call' because you didn't remembered the lady tamayo's identity is supposed to be hidden.......so when tanjiro said she is examining nezuko then the man asks 'who is lady tamayo' that's when tanjiro realised he was about to accidentally disclose her identity
This arc is for see how the characters become stronger and know a little more about the hashira. I also get surprised by the voice of the crow, sooo deep and those eyes, it is the crow for Edgar Allan Poe story

The name of Kyohjyuuroh Rengoku's Kasugai crow is "Kaname" and the voice actor is Susumu Chiba. He is talented veteran who can play a wide range of roles, from the handsome man to comic roles.
Muichiroh Tokitoh's crow's name is "Ginko", who is an overbearing crow who dotes on Muichiroh and doesn't get along well with other crows.The voice actor is Rie Kugimiya, the queen of Moe Moe Tsunderes.
Mitsuri Kanroji's Kasugai crow's name is "Urara'', which the voice actor is the eternal 17-year-old Yui Horie.
GiyuuTomioka's Kasugai crow's name is "Kanzaburoh'' of Grandpa. Voice actor unknown.
The name of Tengen's Kasugai crow is Nijimaru.

Giyu doesn't consider himself a Hashira, IDK if they will explain this in the anime but you can get a hint in Giyu's uniform pattern and remember Sabito and Makomo's uniform pattern (the training arc - splitting of boulder Tanjiro for Demon slaying exam)

the arc in the manga has nearly 12 chapters.... the anime will have 8 episodes with the first one being a long duration episode....and nearly half of the manga was alredy covered in this single episode, so we are in the presence of the great filler of filler arcs among one of the less filler shonen
