You are literally the saviour of my chemistry grades
Would an amine/ammonia form a salt or an amide with a carboxylic acid? Please help I get conflicting answers online 😭
great video, thanks! could 4-aminophenol also be 4-hydroxyphenylamine?
Dammy Thanks and yes!
Please tell me everyone found paper 1 hard i reckon an A* is 85
ocr are horrible so I wouldn't count on it. so annoying how easy the 2018 paper was in comparison!
Honestly didn’t think it would come to relying on Organic chemistry to get me into uni
MySpaceOfTheInternet x OMG thats what i was thinking as well
Dear lord its not just me
I was really relying on physical chemistry, been getting A's consistently at home on spec paper, paper from 2018 (which I sat btw) and honestly, that exam was something else I'm not sure I even scraped a B.
What is the enzymes that catalyzes amide formation in living cells
Do we need to know the mechanism of forming an amide from primary amine and acyl chloride?
nope not in our spec.
why is it sometimes N-methylethyl and sometimes N,N,ethyl methyl ?
Different sources show different names - both of those are acceptable
@@MaChemGuy Thank you much! im not confident at chemistry and youre videos are like gold!!
in the ocr textbook and spec it doesn't say anything about the reactions of amides or forming them - do we need to know this for the exam?
technically theyre under reactions of acyl chlorides in terms of how to make them
hi sir, you know for the paracetamol question instead of using ethanoic anhydride can you use ethanoyl chloride instead? @5:17
Yeah you can, it's just I specified from an acid anhydride on that slide.
if organic chemistry was a seperate a level id take it
do we need to know how to name amides?
I have taught my students to.
Thank you so much!
You're welcome!
