We are still in the moving process and I am still waiting on internet so please bare with me on the quality😅 I hope you all enjoy and let me know if you have any other bikes you would like me to do a more in depth comparison on!
That’s why they are called mountain bikes, I’m gonna ride it on true mountains. I’ll take the Trance X any day over an XC bike. I would have to say most people who race aren’t professionals so why not just get a bike there’s going to cover more types of riding? You can still race the Trance x.
Great video, and i'm glad i found this information. I have a 2011 Anthem x 29er (the red and black one) and i'm 60 years old. Our local trails where i learned to ride are technical and rocky. I live about 3 hours from Bentonville Arkansas and this place is amazing, however most of my riding is local. My old Anthem just beats me up and it's time to upgrade without breaking the bank. I'm looking at the Trance and the Trek EX 8. Do you have any suggestions? Osage Hills State Park is the local trails i mentioned. Thank you and once again great content
I'm looking into the new 2022 Trance 29 (alloy 2 version), which has that 120/130mm suspension with the Maestro design. Any thoughts on that bike and how it compares to the Anthem/TranceX?
Honestly, if I were to get any other bike at the moment it would be a standard 120 Trance 29. You always have the capability of putting longer travel on the bike but, for me at least, it’s the perfect balance of great rolling/lightweight while also being able to handle chunky descents. I love my Oiz but it is a single pivot and you can tell in the chunk😅
@@MossieRidesBikes That’s helped me out a ton 😁 I’ve been looking at the Trance 29 vs the Trance 29 X but think for my type of riding the regular Trance 29 will suit me better.
Few days ago I took a spin in front of our local Giant dealer on Anthem advance with live valve. Wasn't set up for me, but still feels like true race rig. But with my 105kg body, I didn't 'abused' bike too much. Way too expensive if I break something. But at least I know how noisy high end forks can be, so won't fuss about mine :) Trance X looks like a great bike, but might be too much of bike for my riding. I like 30-40km or longer rides uphill, with being surrounded by mountains, but I'm not that much into super fast descending, since I ride solo 95% of times. I enjoy exploring and being in the nature, but also to pedal. X might be too much for that. Or is it good all rounder, for all day rides? I'm waiting for you to get the hands on Trance 29 2 2022, to hear your thoughts and compare it to X. Where is which better for what. And please do bike check of your Oiz :)
i have a trance 3 aluminum. i wish i would have bought an anthem aluminum hard tail or anthem aluminum full suspension. i live in the columbia, sc area. you dont need the extra travel around here and the trance is heavy. BUT with strong legs and the right tires you can make a trance pedal fast. i have won a cat 2 xc race with my trance aluminum. i have also ridden sugar mountain a couple times with the trance. it seems to do great, i dont have anything to compare it to.
I live in the mountains and I bought a trance x 29. Extremely satisfying coming from a older Jekyll 4 design this bike can spank any descent until it calls mom for mercy 😂 It doesn't climb that bad too...
Why would l buy an Anthem now? Its just like 80% of other xc bikes. You're right the Maestro was unique. Fortunately there's Ibis, Ghost, Pivot, BMC and Mondraker keeping the linkage bikes
Just went thru this and picked up a Trance x in the spring. I think the anthem would be better on local trails. But when I throw in my height 6’4” at 230lbs I thought the extra travel would be more of a benefit for me. And really getting use to it on single track woods ruts etc. I replace the front dhr with the dissector and it rolls way better than it did Great video

Or meet in the middle and go with the regular trance.
I would just pick the one that has the color that I like the most! Both are great 👍
The most valid reason💪 my pick(color wise) would be the Trance
Yes! Show us the 'monsterized' OIZ! :-)

So is the current suspension design is inferior to Maestro?

Trance for having fun, Anthem for nerds
