I understand the focus on Hermitcraft & he builds some incredible stuff (bigger projects than he has ever made in his singleplayer) but it's not the same. I grew up to Building with BdoubleO.

I think the spaceship is much more evocative just floating there, instead of a suggestion of movement in a smoke trail that would jar with the reality of it being static

Bdubbs - I LOVE the mix of gothic stuff + all the concrete brutalist / "spacey" looking buildings you've done recently. There's another sci fi novel called "The book of the new sun" that really encompasses that vibe too. It's like your buildings represent people living in the shadow of these incomprehensible ruins of an old world! very thematic.

There are so many big guardian farm designs that take hundreds of thousands of blocks…and this takes the cake for the best I have seen. With not nearly as many resources. Well done man
The center of the ship is perfectly weighted in comparison with the rest of the ship!! Just by putting the holes in the vertical sections gives it a lighter feel…almost like sails. Very cool. I’m a fan of this build. Field with crop circles for the platform???
I absolutely love the way B-Dubs mixes Gothic/medieval fantasy world stuff with Sci-fi elements, it gives me so much Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, TitansGrave vibes. "D&D but in the Future" is such an underrated style.

Absolutely stunning how you transform farms into builds like this. I always hide my farms away because they're ugly, but this makes me want to start all over again and be creative in camoflaging the farms.
I just started decorating my farms this year, and it's the most satisfying stuff I've ever built! Especially if you can incorporate the workings into the decoration and not just cover them, although that'll depend on the types of farm too...
The ship is truly a work of art. There are so many aesthetic queues and it’s just wonderful all around. Would easily be a luxury ship in any major sci fi franchise, yet with the little ships looking like escorts I could also see it being military grade. I get both Dune and Star Wars and even more artsy feeling. Well done, truly

Build a medieval ship below the spaceship to conceal the lower part of the farm so you have a time and technology contrast, that would look awesome

I love sci-fi stuff, and I think the spaceship looks great. Just as a suggestion, I think you could add contrails, similar to how a jet would leave a streak of clouds behind it. I think it would look great in expressing how fast this spaceship is going across the sky, like how they do speed lines in comics to show movement.

@decomposedcorpse5186 Yeah, and my comment was kinda in response to that. Because he mentions smoke trails (perhaps similar to his flying tug boat), and I think jet contrails would be much better given the type of aircraft.
One of the best builds you have done, doesn't compromise on efficiency for looks. Also has a similar shape to the new ship in Ahsoka that coincidently also released today
This series will be one to rewatch, so many amazing builds. Look forward to a majillion more eps in the years to come x

Love this guardian farm so much, IanXOfour really does make great tutorials. I built this in my own world back in 1.18, it's such a strong farm for the amount of time you put in
Stunning! To me, the airship kinda looks like a "slice" that came out of a much bigger, roundish structure (e. g. like the Death Star in Star Wars). I'd really like to see that structure - maybe a base/farm/something in the end?
Sci Fi is my favorite genre after Horror and I love this so much, I've always wanted to do a Space themed build maybe a Space Station base or recreate the Nostromo from Alien?
I also love it mixed with the Medieval stuff it's as though the Advanced Society is either visiting a less advanced Planet, or in the future they realized that Gothic Architecture is the best and used that in all their buildings? I don't know it works
You should build another air ship or two like the one in your city near the space shaped farm, I feel like that's a simple way to tie it in and shout "LORE"
Like maybe this is a steampunk fantasy world that has regular contact with aliens

SIMPLY MAGNIFICENT! You could also add purple/pink stained glass streaks surrounded by a frog light core from the engines to simulate flare bursts!
Have you thought of using dispensers with water bucket and flint and steel to turn the water surface portals on and off with a switch or button when you don't need them on?
Hi Bdubs, instead of smoke trails you could add that "heart of the sea" item in the nose of the ship as like a "gravity reactor" kinda thing lore wise, for it to make sense floating!? LOVE the look of it!!!

It’s easy to see aircraft design inspiration often comes from organic forms, so an angelfish inspired aircraft shape works just fine. ❤

I love the idea of a world that is still early to mid industrial era that has made first contact. Just the random ship flying about here and there adds such a wonderful and beautiful juxtaposition.

LOVE the space ship idea. This farm was one of the first ones I built in my world and it was mainly for the xp. (also the cloud pack is amazing, I need to download). Some friendly suggestions for you: So you don't have to go into swim mode to get to the back chests, you should have the back hoppers point into the front hoppers and just collect all your drops from the front chests more often. also, I think a smoke trail would be really cool if it was coming at a swooping angle from higher in the sky like the ship just came in from space.
🤔 ... or move up at a sweeping angle... like it just came up & out of the water like so many 1st-hand accounts have reported for decades! ESPECIALLY with his design choice. 🐠

Also, I really appreciate how you give advice and explain your creative processes in these videos, about building fundamentals and techniques, composition, colors, shading and gradients, detailing, etc. It motivates me to try to improve my building skills (and in fact, various creative skills in general, because a lot of your advice is broadly applicable), and it makes me feel like I can one day make builds as cool as yours!

I think a small alien outpost could look cool as the cover for the lower portion of the farm. and maybe they have a small storeroom area where they've taken random bits of the human technology to study. like a wagon, wheelbarrow, etc. could be a really cool tie in to your main city

That's no moon... Seriously, it's beautiful, and I'm wondering how to adapt that concept to Bedrock. It might not be possible, but now I have ideas. I found you by way of the Life series, and I am so glad I did! Your tutorials and varieties of style are a huge inspiration for my own work, which is mostly in vanilla Bedrock.
As soon as Bdubs said he was going to make a spaceship, I was like, *_okay, this is going to be the coolest thing ever_* - also fits into the world just fine, aliens don't have to be on the same technological level as the rest of your builds - they're from outer space! Also kinda cool that it's shrouding itself in the vastness of the ocean, hidden from general viewing.
The lighting for the engines is so cool! The curve of the ship makes it look like an angel fish.

Give that "ship" a black hue to its "hair" and some black at the tips of the lower fins (nail polish), a little bit of hair over one of the eyes and BLAM you have a Goth Fish... totally fits gothic medieval xD
The ship reminds me a lot of the Mothership from Homeworld, a great sci fi RTS from several years ago. Great build, and I love everything that you do!

The shape of the spaceship reminds me of the alien creatures from the movie "Pitch Black"

For the ocean-portal-platform part, you should make it into an enemy ship burning and sinking that the crescent one just shot down; Maybe with a different style such as Utilitarian utilizing darker colors, or more colorful options to show it as a different faction. Aliens confirmed in the Bw/B World Lore!

That spaceship is wrapped around that farm like a pair of 80's Jordache jeans. So much better than the hot air balloon that you'd likely see hiding a farm.

Reminds me of a cross between Eve Online's Gallente ships and the war bear species (Ob'enn) from the Scholck Mercenary online comic series. Quite the evocative ship design.

I designed a guardian farm very similar to this in my survival world. I had already drained and removed a monument and built a farm but it sucked so I tore it down and took inspiration from ianxo4 and mad multiple tanks with bubble columns and scaffolding at the top with nether portals and omg it is soooooo good!
