Should be a 360 deg camera and not two (what 80-120 deg) cameras. There should be SD card storage wherever you want to hide it. Using ODB it should be checking the battery health to make sure it's not draining a already weak battery. Should also default to home wifi instead of cell when say parked at home.
great vid. i have 2 questions though. how is the vid quality in the day and does the front camera have night vision? i'm assuming not because night vision bounces off of glass. the video of you standing in front of the truck wasn't great. are there settings to help with night filming? ok...i gues that was more than 2 questions...lol. informative video though 👍
Very curious why Ring chose to have the USB connection on the camera itself come off the wrong side of the camera to lead directly to the OBD-II port on the majority of cars worldwide. Second, I wish Ring would offer a hard-wire kit instead of making the OBD-II port the only option. I currently have a Bouncie plugged into my OBD-II port. Finally, I wish Ring included a warning sticker that could adhere to the inside of a window rather than the outside.
I have ring at home. But I buy Ring dash cam only when offer 3 channel. Until then, go and buy blackvue cloud base dash cams. Ring has a long way to go if they want a portion of the market like it did with home security sector.
Pros? It does work just like the a flood light it a door bell it does send notification, only problem is video quality I'm disappointed about sometimes its good and sometimes it's bad depending on the LTE location you are getting in that area, most of the time it's really hard for read the plate numbers. Also when you want to save a video clip it's only a 20 seconds clip
Other DCs say that the law says that they HAVE to be hidden from the driver's view to not distract during driving. Why is this DC mounted on the bottom of the dashboard?
I've got CCTV covering one side but it doesn't protect the far side from potential keying etc. What I want is a DIY sentry mode like Tesla has. It'd be something jammed on the outside of a closed window or something like that. Cameras inside cars are useless once there's condensation on the windows. Elon Musk isn't stupid. He puts the cameras outside the car.
I'm having a problem with motion detection out side of the car but I have no problem with motion inside the car and I don't even have the interior motion setting on
@@do7hemath937 pretty much I had my buddy just tap the car with his hands and it started working... With the lid close it does detect motion with the front cam and with the lid open it detects for both. Kinda wish it had a battery in the camera just cause it does like to shut off depending on how much you drive the car. I out that in very long recording setting when you set how you want the battery to run so don leave it on short
Not too much hood at all. Mind you the Tacoma is smaller, but it doesn’t look too bad. Can’t see too well out the topper. I’ll have to address your hood concern in the next video I do on it.
This is the lowest most visible unhidden DC I've ever seen. What can you say about the parking monitor pros and cons. Is it super dark video at night when the vehicle is parked?
You guys are talking about the feature that I'm most interested in, the footage when the vehicle is parked and the app and notifications. Tell me what you have learned. I didn't like the subscription fee but this seems like the only DC that acts just like a home security camera.
I just got a DC by another company and the video outside the car is completely dark even though the front windshield with no tint. & when it rains & the car is parked, you have 0 visibility.
amazing review man

Is there one out here that does these?

I like that the app sends you video the same as if it were a home security system. Do you have more videos about the parking monitor pros and cons?

How far does the WiFi reach though??!?
Should of an update video

I have a ram 1500 I’m going to install mine. Do you have to much hood showing up on your camera ?

Can you put sunshade on the car with the camera mounted ? Thanks
You for sure can get a sun shade on. Great comment. I’ll test that out in my next video update on the features.
No but you can simply smudge the windshield with sunscreen
@@laspeeders17 I never would have thought of that, you just saved me money from tinting my windshield! Thank you!
I just got mine but I don't get notification when people pass by do you know why
Turn off Interior Motion Verification
@@waa2100 yeah I just did that but some time people pass by and don’t notify me they have to fix that

I’m sure it Will get better with updates since it’s BETA at the moment.

You missed the name of the tool provided. Spudger!
Hahaha is that really a thing?!! Great name for a tool. Usually, the most common name for a tool is "Kurt".
I don’t like that they said both cameras have night vision and only the inside one does. I am going to return both of them.

Mine lasted 10 days so far 🤣
This Cam is horrible compared to my Blackvue S750 LTE
Have one I don’t like it battery life sucks
Sure I like people listening in on my conversations and spying on me why not hook up a ring in my car. No thanks🤷🏼♂️
Haha good call! My co worker said the same thing this morning. Made me want to send the thing back to Amazon haha.
@@ModernGreaser I would or throw it in the trash.
Yet you probably have your cell phone and Bluetooth on.
