I recently started listening to GIMS and I am obsessed! He has a documentary on Netflix that I just watched. He has collaborated with Stromae and Indila (also obsessed). Found them all this year funny enough, via tiktok.
Hi Dereck! Thanks for your react on Gims. Do you know that since March 2019, it has decided to simply be called GIMS.
Gims has a round and powerful voice, he is a baritone even if he can go very high in the notes. He could have been an opera singer as he has said several times in interviews.
For a few seconds during a broadcast, he sang Pavarotti "La donna è mobile".
It's also his way of singing, you'll notice as his singles.
This song was released on April 28, 2015 as the first single from her second album "Mon Coeur Avait Raison" (My Heart Was Right), ranked No.3 and certified platinum single for 150,000 sales.
It deals with the difficulties that can be encountered in a relationship.
The music video was shot between Paris and New York. For the interior scenes, GIMS was filmed at the National Museum of Asian Arts, the Guimet Museum (Paris 6th).
Since its publication on RUclips on May 4, 2015, the clip has received more than 400 million views.
In the same album, my fav is "Tu Vas Me Manquer" (I'M Gonna Miss You) released the same year, the music is catchy (bettet than this one) and the videoclip is futuristic, if you have seen StarTrek or Star Wars movies.
There is also a song "Je Te Pardonne" (I Forgive You) in duet with SIA (released in March 2016) even if exists a solo version in the album.
In his first album, I recommend you; "J'Me Tire" (I'M Outta Here) in 2013 and Zombie in 2014. And when he was in Sexion D'Assaut with BLACK M (and other members), their huge hit was "Désolé" (Sorry) in 2010.
