    Ben using Ferris mowers for years. 2 different mowers. Can't remember the 1st model. But my brother has it . Was bought probably 15 years ago. About 6 years I upgraded to a IS3200/ 61" deck. Vanguard 32 hp, 5 quart oil system. You can mowers for 500 hours before you need to change the oil. Also has an adjustable air seat.
    Ferris Mowers are simply the best! In a class of their own.

If you are like me and have had some back issues in the past, the rigid frame mower is a rough ride. I've been looking at options for a while. Thanks for your informative review.

    I just started watching your videos and enjoy them. I have owned almost every top-of-the-line major brand of commercial zero-turn mower made in the last 20 years (JD, Scag, Kubota, Exmark). We have 55 acres and keep about 15 acres mowed. I just recently bought a new Ferris ISX 3300 with a 72" deck and the Vanguard 40-hp engine. This mower really is a game-changer. I can mow faster and more comfortably than with other mowers. This Ferris mower has a great cut and mows great even in high grass and does not clump. Do you run your rear tires at 15 lbs. tire pressure as they come from the dealer, or do you lower your tire pressure to 12-13 lbs.?

  • @jdtoys2768
    @jdtoys2768 9 месяцев назад

    Hi Tony, glad you like your Ferris...we have the ISX3200 61" deck, with the 35hp Kawasaki engine. It is a beast! Being somewhat "under tall" we unbolted the foot peddle that raises and lowers the mower deck and turned it around then bolted it back on making it about 2'" closer and much easier to push when raising or lowering the mower deck. You can take the rubber piece off and turn it around also. Check to make sure the dealer installed the front castor bearing grease zerks... they come with a bolt from the factory. Happy Mowing, Doug @jdtoys.

    I have a Ferris 1500Z 48 inch deck that I purchased in 2005 I think. I have no idea how may hours are on this mower and the 21 hp Kawasaki. It just keeps on churning along. I have rebuilt the deck completely 3 years ago and replaced an idler pully this spring. Just replaced the front tires with flat free. Took a little southern engineering to get the axles correct. That was because I ordered the wrong ones. :) ! The choke has to be operated by hand because I refuse to order a new carburetor shaft just for the little keeper that keeps the choke cable attached. I keep suggesting Ferris to my friends, family, and neighbors but they keep buying Hustler, Bad Boy etc. My nearly 20 old machine mows circles around all of them. Should I ever need one it will be a Ferris hands down.

    Been an ExMark man for 19 years, but am saving for a Ferris Z3X Stander in either '25 or' 26. Every time I save up to buy something nice, the house, the car, or the wife has some more immediate need.
    I think the difference for me is the speed. You have acreage and you really don't want to spend more time than needed cutting grass. I have a 1-acre lot that never lures me to go top speed /12.5+ mph. However, if I were a Pro and spent the day on/off the mower, ride quality would be a top-2 issue (reasonably easy maintenence the other).

    I have had 3 different ferris mowers. Is700 z2 and not the isx800. Is700 is more of a residential mower. Z2 is outstanding for commercial lawns and hillside. Grips better than any other mower. But is a little harsh on the back and legs. The isx800 with 27hp Briggs is a beast. I was aiming for the 36hp however when I took the 27 for test ride and mowed some tall grass I fell in love. And the price is 5 to 7thou cheaper than the isx3300. I'm a ferris guy till I gone. I've mowed with other brands and they don't even come close. If you haven't tried a ferris yet give them a shot and you will not be disappointed with everything you get for the price.

      As long as you take care of the mower it should last several years. My first one lasted 8 years before I sold it to get my 2100Z. I would think we would be more worried about how long the engine can run before it reaches its lifespan which is around 2,000 hours on some of them. After that it might be best to have them rebuild the motor. The sticker should be on the side of the motor. At least it was for my Kawasaki.

    I’ve worked in a Sprint machine shop as a builder years ago. I’ve always been told, “More power is better because it won’t have to work.”
    My brother got a 6 banger 1500 dodge. “They” claimed better gas mileage…..that’s BS because that motor works it’s nuts off All the Time!…..(and that works into maintenance)….as in More.
    I want a 10,000 hp truck because it won’t break a Sweat with my light foot pushing 300 hp to the ground.😂😂😁

Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I can't imagine spending close to $20,000 on a piece of equipment unless it did more than just mow grass. Looks like your new 3300 has the new 60" deck rather the the long running 61" ICD deck? I know the description says 60", but a lot of guys call 61" decks 60 since it is the same class size. The new 60" I looked under at the local dealer a few months ago was fairly tightly baffled like and Exmark UC deck. I prefer the original style ICD , especially for cutting longer grass, but the new style deck should do excellent on weekly cut lawns. At around the 6 minute mark you can see quite a few stragglers left behind at the speed you were mowing. The older and more open style deck does better in those conditions. The Ferris is the best ride on the market hands down. That said, no LCO I know in this business mows at the speeds you were running in both videos. 6-8 is the norm. The other point I will make is we get paid to cut grass and leave a fine QOC behind, and the deck is what leaves the cut and matters most.
