Thing is, Ryback and The Miz actually listened to what Dr. Death had to say, who were in the same class. I know Doc in particular liked Miz, where in an interview he said "I'm not naming names, but there's this kid in my class who has a big ego, running around like a reality TV star owning the place. At the same time, he grew up watching the good stuff & if he learns his way around the ring and get some discipline, I think the kid will be an all-time great".

Dr. Death was broke when he owed Terry Gordy's widow money. He lost pretty much all his net worth to battling throat cancer, almost 2 year's worth of medicals bills (2004 and 2005) to both Japanese and American doctors. Doc didn't qualify for healthcare coverage being an independent contractor, and Japan at the time didn't have universal healthcare for non-citizens. He had to pay Japanese doctors up-front, same with his American ones at MD Anderson. I remember in 2002, Doc's net worth was $2 million dollars, then he lost pretty much all of it.
