    For those asking, the poop is likely for the fibers it contains. It will give the "glue" more body and make it more durable/less brittle while flexing. I've heard of using it to make pitch before and that was the reason given to me. Could be wrong though 🤷‍♀️

      This honestly is no different then what we do today in concrete. I used to work at a ppace that made concrete bank vaults. When we would mix the mud for the pour it could only go to the bank vault pours because it had thousands of 2 inch corrugated steel ribbons mixed into the mud.........dude i hated bank vault pours because you ruined your gloves and your hands still go shredded.....or saved your gloves and your hands REALLY got shredded.

    I was reading an article about early 1800's State Fairs. At the time it was a popular snack to boil whole potato in pine resin. An internet search turned up nothing on how it was done. But, I did find a source for gallon cans of food grade pine resin. I suspect pine resin is simply filtered pine sap. Then, I discovered that Spain had a small pine resin industry hanging onto tradition. And, a contact at the process facility recounted that in the distant past cooking in pine resin had occurred. My Spanish was as bad as his English and communiction was limited. I have not followed up on this but will keep you posted.

      Because it's pine _rosin_ that was used. A resin that is a byproduct of turpentine production. A related but not identical product to the natural resinous exudate of pine trees.
      Actually I believe it's what's left of it after the gum turpentine is distilled off of the sap/resin, but don't quote me.
      The RUclipsr Emmymade did a good video on it. I would link you the video directly but of late RUclips has taken to censoring comments with links in them. But if you search for Emmymade rosin potatoes, you'll likely find it!

    When I was a kid I went and collected a giant mass of pine sap. I kept it in a bucket of water. I’d take it out and play with it. It was like a giant blob of silly putty. I called it sap mud. I also used to chew hard pieces of sap I’d find on a tree. After a bit of chewing it would become like bubble gum in texture. Flavor wise it was still very much like tree sap. A buddy and me tried to cook some sugar and other flavor into the sap. I seem to recall that’s how we discovered how flammable it was. We then switched to using sap mud to make torches. I was around 9 by that time. There were some incidents. Maybe some permanent scars but we all turned out fine. Being a kid in the 80s/90s was the last great generation for childhood.

I mean the FDA just finally announced that fluoride is a neurotoxin that causes brain damage. My first husband is first Nations and we got a recipe for an strong antibacterial salve.
    1 part resin, 1 part animal fat (specifically bear but any will do) or Vaseline and the collected spoors of the puffball mushroom.
    Melt the resin and fat then after it has cooled to a touchable temperature mix in all the spoors. If you find a first sized puffball that has gone brown but not opened yet that should have enough. If not 10+ tiny ones will do. Make sure they have not opened at all yet.
    Funny thing is my first husband used that all the time but my second husband is allergic.

    • @jujubean1185
      @jujubean1185 2 месяца назад +5

      First you need to render the fat, which is just heating it to kill any worms/parasites. Roughly one pound of fat cut into cubes will render at 225°F in about 25 minutes. You can cook it a bit faster at higher temps, but you don't want to scorch the fat (adding a little water will help prevent this). The lower and slower temp and time will produce a more clear/whitish rendered fat compared to darker fat at higher temps. Once it's finished liquefying and being heated, you'll want to strain out any solid pieces left over (cheesecloth works great) and jar it up and store or in a cool, dry, dark place.

    Yeah, and a lot of hemlocks and ferns. They’ll have a little blisters on their skin if you pop that it’s pretty much the same thing so if there’s not hardened, you can use that as an antiseptic or fire starter or as a temporary hold. As a glue source I say temporary because you need to add in charcoal. This like he said and deer droppings, but rabbit droppings were the best if you can find them I don’t know why, but I’ve made it with deer and rabbit droppings, and it seems to be the rabbit, for some reason, makes a better glue and hold together better and it’s not so brutal. I thought it was the way I was preparing and mixing it I thought maybe it into a charcoal not enough pine sap or this or that and actually it has something to do with the quality of the dropping to use they have to be dry first of all and second of all people usually kind of forget beer don’t just eat greens and stuff. They are opportunist if you’re missing anything I said that I like iron or anything he’ll eat small animals like mice birds, so that mine remember rabbit Steve, pretty much 100 vegetarian or green here. Whatever you wanna call it it’s pure.
