I drove one like this (same bodylength but over-height roof, kombi windows setup, without airbag or rev-meter, 1999 spanish market specs) by many tens of thousands kilometers, from 1999 till 2018, and it was by far (with permission of the "little" VW Transporter T5 TDI 104 HP we had too) the best cargo-blaster I´ve ever driven. Reasonable fuel efficiency for the year, around 10 l/100km while was legal to drive vans at 120 kph in motorways (90 few years after) inmense torque very useful for agile driving and even for overtakings in secondary routes with or without load, comfortable driver seat, not that much for the passengers, very clever transversal leaf spring suspension for forward axle, and very good braking results. The top cherry, an unexpected fun capability in certain mountain roads ;-) In the other hand, we'd experimented some issues due to its very few weak points combined with some ocassional drivers lack of care, such as the starting motor pinion failure, premature camshaft and valve tappets wearings (bad lubing in cold startings). And after that, a water leak that spoiled parts of the ECU for its final years, causing uneven and cutted power delivery, until I disconnected the air flow meter sensor, from which we only had a notorious loss of power 😀but very smooth run reaching the 110's. Not bad for a "safety mode" In better hands and putting money in the right places, it will lasts forever.
A bit rusty on the back and sides, But whatever, Still a great car to drive in considering the mileage. Just wondering how much it would've been brand new in Euros.
Oglądam ten film pijąc miłosław ipa bezalkoholowe. Ale gdybym pił argusa strong prosto z puszki, to byłby full budowlaniec experience. BTW w tym aucie nic nie trzeszczy, piszczy czy skrzypi. Kiedyś to vw robiło trwałe auta!
Not bad for 109hp 😎👏👏👏👏👏! I've always loved the performance of these particularly VW LT Sprinters instead of the quieter LT46 ones. I was in an 06-reg whilst on a residential trip with school from Lynmouth back to Yenworthy Lodge (all in Devon) and we over took a Mark 5 'smiley' Ford Transit up Countisbury Hill! Hill!!!
Well, if they fix it up a bit, I would rather buy the old VW than today's cars which in my opinion are rubbish because of the monitor and the voice assistants which I would have to get rid of, any kind of AI assistants, I would only need the displays like in the old car. No monitor, no ringing, none of that.
Now that is solid mileage! :D The engine is in better condition than the rear doors.
Old German diesel sir
@@Marekk_2k and that's a van! I daily drive a 2008 C Klasse Merc with a 220CDI 170CP that currently has 530.000km and counting!
Beautiful 5cyl Diesel
I love how these sound, and the fact that it starts up like new is even better.
Propsy dla diagnosty który podbił tej trumnie badanie techniczne.
Now THAT thing was worth its money! :D
Ten wóz to koń pociągowy polskiej budowlanki 😉
The best engine from VW :) .
OMG 570k km that's crazy
Thats nothing for 20 y/o tdi
YEAH MAN! The cars that matter! GJ!
This van has been through a lot
Love that sound my uncle drove a few sprinters and one of them had that growling sound think it was a 313 cdi

SIGMA SIGMA
570k km is not that much. I did 700k km with a 1.9TDi golf 4
The older the better in durability and quality I can only say about VW and group VW cars!!!
Maybe this is Mercedes engine, the steering wheel is from Mercedes
@@ssdivizion I think you are right!! 👍
What a machine! Not a single speck of rust and lightning speed of 0-45kph for 23.5 seconds! Did they like it in the scrapyard?
Nice 570k km mileage!

Ten bus ma lekko 400 000 km więcej. Który samochód dostawczy jezdzi tylko ok 23 000 km rocznie ? ;p on miał te 570 000 po 10 latach już.
man hört eindeutig den 5 zylinder
RUSTBUCKET ... BUT STILL RUNNING
In kutaisi 2018, these are buses from German Regions
